Cloud Gaming: The Pros and Cons

MasonicGamer.com: You’ve probably already heard game developers telling you how great cloud gaming is and how it is going to be the future of gaming. But is it any good?

While game-makers and publishers enthuse about the prospect of cutting costs by removing the need for packaging and retail, gamers (much like myself) are rather more lukewarm to the prospect of cloud gaming.

So whatever opinion you may have about cloud gaming, let us try and impartially look at some of the pros and cons: (Next-Gen, PS3, Tag Invalid, Wii U, Xbox 360)

This will remove the dlc on disk problem. If content is removed you just wont know about it. But is seem to ok cuz sony is doing it so cloud gaming is good now./s

"This will remove the dlc on disk problem. If content is removed you just wont know about it"..... That still happens without cloud gaming. It just makes sense to put in on the disc if you are going to do it anyway.

Yes but this way they could change there minds and take out content 2 days before launch.

why would you name your website "masonicgamer"?

OT: I think that cloud gaming should, at the moment, be for older and/or smaller games; such as psn games and ps1/2 classics. In addition, Sony could easily include video streaming as well; for movies, television shows, music videos, and "spectator's mode". Imagine if they allowed you to stream games and video for a low monthly fee...

I think it was pacher or someone from the invisible walls team at Gametrailers said something interesting about Gaikai being included with Sony tvs (which makes sense as in that part of Sony is really not doing so well also makes their TVs competitive with the new smart tvs if they include the mobile/small games). Then on their new console the system will be used for (to an extent) backward compatibility .

Only con is internet speed needed. This is why I think all consoles should have free 4G or 5G to rn clould and online gaming smoothly and lag free
