GamingNexus: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Dawnguard Review

GamingNexus: Fortunately for us all, Bethesda has a habit of continually releasing downloadable content for games that don’t exactly need it. While the new content for Fallout 3 and Oblivion did nothing to drastically alter the games, it gave fanatics more of what they loved in the first place. Skyrim’s first DLC Dawnguard is no exception to this motif. (The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360) -

Still not sure if i wan't to get it yet. Any word on PS3 release date?

Probably in a month from now I'm guessing. The DLC is decent, but a tiny bit pricey for the amount of content. Not really a complaint, but it could have been 5 dollars cheaper it seems.

Honestly, I didn't like it all that much though. It wasn't terrible, but I dont think it was that great. Either you become a vampire or hunt vampires. Yet, both sides were sort of lackluster for me.

You can become a vampire with the awesome perk tree, but every time you transform you lose all your skills and essentially lose your character. Similar to being a werewolf.

Or you can keep your character and become the hunter, which doesn't really offer anything new really, except the crossbow which has been mentioned. It felt like a guild quest that could have been part of the regular game. Nothing extremely memorable, but entertaining none the less.

I'd watch a couple of reviews if you're on the fence.

The only downside i heard of was that you could still become a Vampire Lord while working for the Dawnguard so that kinda ruins the purpose of joining the Vampires.

Becoming a Vampire in the org game was huge rage for me. It was like a game killer. As I was trying to do so many quest. Yet sun light stops you, going into towns and having the town try and kill you stops you. Then to get rid of it was like a long quest in itself. I was so happy when I got rid of it.

well Bethesda said at least a month after the 360 release.. but the 1.6 updatehasnt even came yet -__-. i swear timed exclusive's are stupid.

I know and i'm really hoping they stick with the month deal cause it's already the 22nd and theirs still no word on when the DLC will be coming out.
