Resident Evil 6: Does Capcom's all-action Resident Evil betray the series' roots?

Resident Evil 6 is Capcom cashing in their chips on the triple-A lottery and just banking on a little bit of everything. There are six heroes, three campaigns, two different flavours of co-op and more variety in E3's three fifteen-minute demos than most games manage in their entire campaign. But it's so busy making new friends and being all things to all people it might have forgotten to just be Resident Evil.

Yup. The Last of Us is more true to survival action than Resi 6.

They might still have the horror element, but it's just not quite the same. And with Chris, you're shooting living human enemies in it - that's naff. They should call it Gears of Evil 6. The story looks good though, so it's probably a rent from me.

It's more of horror action now cause what survival elements does RE6 really have? You know are able to strafe and shoot also theirs a better melee system so pretty much non survival at all.

If you guys want to play RE6 early just go buy Binary Domain. Gameplay and direction is very similar but just with robots in a futuristic world.

When every1 start to show their dissatisfaction with their wallets then game companies will stop screwing with us & turn everything into generic action shooters for the masses, the variation of game types we once have few years back is all but gone now, now it's all about unlimited ammo, regenerative health, & no puzzle-fast-paced-action crap, PASS.

I was under the impression that the different characters you play through the game have completely different gameplay styles.

Anyone know? I thought the Leon guy was a fast paced, more TPS like gameplay while Chris or whoever is more classic and slow paced.
