The original Saints Row was perhaps the most successful Grand Theft Auto copycat to date, and its sequel is promising to up the ante with a series of tweaks to the winning crime sim formula. Unsurprisingly, gang warfare is still the order of the day as you guide your chosen gangbanger through an expanded version of Stillwater City. You know usually when someone says "you may have missed" it's games that were lesser known, hidden gems, underrated games. These are all super high profile games that sold extremely well.
You know the 2000s is 20 years ago too? Maybe, just maybe this wasn’t an article targeted to 30+ gamers? Still says at the very beginning of the title “THE BEST GAMES you may have missed”. Regardless of how well they sold there’s tons of gamers who haven’t touched these older well known games lol.
It's games you "may have missed", insinuating you were around and gaming in the 2000's and were there to miss them. If it was aimed at everyone else then they missed literally everything, not just the top games.

Yeah, I was just going to say. It's interesting seeing them back behind the series. Max Payne 3 was amazing, but then Rockstar just sat on the IP.
Well, they sit on virtually anything that isn't GTA and Red Dead now.
What is this list? These are all hugely popular games. I was expecting games like Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Advent Rising, Arx Fatalis, etc.

I've only played 3 on that list. Part of me feels bad about how little I used all the consoles I've owned as a kid. One bright side is, there's over 30 years of games to experience for the first time.

I mean, it IS merged with Game pass. you get game pass you get games with gold.
Ah my mistake, I have ultimate. But now that you mention it I do remember them getting me with the upsell, seemed a bit silly not to spend the couple bucks extra for Xbox live (and I guess also games with gold).
Dunk Lords has a sort of NBA Jam vibe to it so that might be fun. I like rally racers but much prefer the Sega type (arcade style) over the more realistic ones. So that may be a pass. I already have SR2 on disc so I dont need that one. Juju looks cute in a DKC/Rayman sort of way so that might be worth a try. Overall though... its pretty bland month.
Honestly the gold term here was a bad choice .. when it says gold it give impress there is silver and bronze before.

Plenty of games seem guaranteed to get sequels. But sometimes, companies surprise people and give them the additional installments they didn't know they needed.
Dark Sniper is pretty sure everyone remembers the poor and mundane online function of the original Saints Row on XBOX 360. XBOX Live seems to have it's restrictions to developers who are not EA, Bungie or Activision.
With easier programming tools for Playstation® Network. Dark Sniper believes that Saints Row will reach it's full potential only on PLAYSTATION® 3.

And we care about this game because?? If this game is to have any chance of selling THQ better delay this game to next year. Let's face it, GTA IV will outshine this game in every way.
I actually enjoyed the first game, I didn't think I would either. It felt like San Andreas 1.5 so I think that's why I kept playing until completion, but it showed promise for the franchise. It also had MF Doom and the Editors in the soundtrack, win for all right there. The only caveat was that CJ was more likeable than the "protagonist" of Saints Row and actually HAD a personality. I hope you have more lines in SR2, the silent guy only worked for the first 3 GTAs.
Bad thing for Volition/THQ is that they're trying to bring out the game this year, it's going to get overshadowed by GTA4 if it comes out too close. And even without GTA4 there are a ton of open world games this year with more interesting premises (Brutal Legend, Prototype, Borderlands) so it REALLY has to set itself apart.
