Former NanaOn-Sha staffer Dewi Tanner on why display latency has spelt the end for big-screen performance gaming.

I am playing rhythm games on my VITA. No lag on that whatsoever! Of course, I am playing PSP rhythm games on it (since the biggest rhythm-typeish games arrive a bit later on this year).
I will need to test the back touch lag, because that seemed far below the 100ms latency threshold MS's reaserch team claimed was in modern day capacitive-touch sensors.
Not news. Fighting game players have been dealing with this forever. Just research the amount of input lag on the TV in advance and play your old systems on old TVs.
I'm so glad I still have my old Samsung CRT HDTV (best of both worlds -1080p) Heck! some of my games preform better on a CRT VS my LCD. 'cough' tekken 'cough'

But that's an outlandish claims anyway . Rythm games still works on such tvs , as seen with the Hatsune miku or guitar games .
If anything it's usually fighting games suffering the most from input lag . Most modern music games were quite lenient with the inputs

Ohh! Dat contrast (minus the 1080p)
