Feature: Why We Still Can't Get Enough of Just Cause 2

It’s been just over two years since Just Cause 2 was released, yet it is one of few games that we just can’t help revisiting every couple of months, either to work on the mammoth task of 100% completion or sometimes just to off steam. But what exactly is the winning formula that keeps us coming back? (Eidos, Just Cause 2, PC, PS3, Square Enix, Xbox 360)

I got it during the Steam sale and it's amazing. Love it, most fun I've had in a game in a long time.

So much to do lol. I played the "1 hour demo" at least 10 times until I said eff it I need this lol

I did exactly the same with the demo and have been playing on and off ever since I bought the game. Still only on about 80%

I just grabbed this for free off PSN+ but I haven't had any time to try it out yet. I'm looking forward to it though. It was one of those games that I wanted to try out but there were just so many games out that this one was lost in the shuffle. Glad I'm getting another crack at this through PSN+.

Make sure you have some time :D

I'm not into RPG's so I don't play 60+hrs games. I have only ever played more than 80+ hours on this game and GTA games. Can't wait for 3 it is going to be GOTY contender!

I highly recommend the BOLO patch for anyone playing it on PC.

It's the right mix of challenge and whackiness. Simple as that.

One of my top 5 games this gen, at least in terms of fun-factor.

I bought the game in June when it was on sale at GamersGate. The most fun I had with an open world game. I love how Palau is portrayed : a melting pot of South East Asian countries and culture all in one convenient place (the desert-themed island filled with Indians is the only thing that somehow felt out of place). It borders on OCD as I hunt down every military installation dotted around Palau.

I've tried the multiplayer beta mod and it was like watching kids running around doing whatever they want.

Last time I noticed (the game has pop-ups telling me of my progress) I've clocked more than 24 hours of game play. Then, Max Payne 3 came out.

The multiplayer beta testing that is going on right now contains the most incredible sandbox shenanigans since San Andreas went online.

Also, if you don't own this game, do you not like fun or something?

Is it just for PC? Criminal that such a fudging awesome game never got any multiplayer AT ALL, especially with the planes and what not! :o

That would be excellent indeed. Imagine a buddy giving your tank an airlift into the enemy base. So many possibilities!

Got it for free on PSN thought it was crap.

There is your problem.

You have it on PS3. Get a decent gaming PC, buy Just Cause 2, download some of the awesome mods and then come back. :)

It's just so fun tying your pursuers vehicles to the ground then watching the acci-dents.

Too true. An excellent physics engine in action :) I like attaching a car to a jumbo jet then taking off. Things tend to get a bit crazy at altitude.
