From Day 18 – Pilotwings Resort, Tristan Rendo writes, "Pilotwings Resort marks a return to one of Nintendo’s classic franchises that has managed to maintain a cult following over the years. My only real memory of the past games in the franchise is the Nintendo 64 version, which at the time was well beyond my ability (or I refused to read the instructions, I’m not sure). So with that I was a little unsure of what to expect from this 3DS title."

PilotWings Resort Developer David Pollatsek Dead at 38

Tynan Muddle at Aussie-Gamer.com writes: "Co-founder of development studio Monster Games and programmer for Nintendo’s PilotWings Resort on Nintendo 3DS David Pollatsek has passed away at the age of 38."

Pollatsek co-founded United States based development studio Monster Games in 1996 which went onto working on Wii titles such as ExciteTruck and ExciteBike: World Rally. The studio was hired as an international partner in the development of PilotWings Resort, a launch title for Nintendo 3DS. One of Pollatsek’s hobbies included flying airplanes."

In addition, we got a slew of retail releases available on the eShop, including Mario Tennis Open, Pilotwings Resort, Pokemon Rumble Blast (euuugh), and the BIT.TRIP Saga! The BIT.TRIP Saga is available for $14.99, Pokemon Rumble Blast is available for $34.99, and the rest are available for $39.99. Finally, the 3DS Virtual Console gets a new entry in the form of Wario Land II for the Game Boy Color ($4.99)."
