Square Enix to hold Final Fantasy XIII presentation on September 1; FFXIII-3 incoming?
Square Enix will host a presentation at the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary event, and it seems as though an announcement for Final Fantasy XIII-3 could be announced based on prior speculation.

Please no! I didn't want XIII-2 and I sure as hell don't want XIII-3. At least not before Versus come out! We've been screaming for VS since 2006 (if memory serves) so just stop all this BS dragging around and give us a quality game, please!
They possibly canceled a game that ALL FF fans wanted and are now possibly announcing a game that is another iteration of a game that the FF fan are split on. WOW.
It boggles the mind. I just doesn't make sense. FFVS13... a game that all FF fans want/are looking to see how the game turns out. FF13-3... a game that only FF13 fans will buy and a game that a good portion of the FF fans will automatically dismiss because it is yet ANOTHER sequel to FF13. So which one makes more sense to release?
Square Enix makes no sense to me. Like you said, "Why should I care about Square anymore?"
It's difficult to make that call. We don't know how far VS13 is through development, we don't know how much more it would take to finish, we don't know how many sales Square reckon they'll get and we don't know how many they'd need to make good on their investments.
On the other hand, we can presume that for XIII-3 there's at least an amount of assets already complete, an engine available and complete, which means the game can be made to a decent quality with basically a skeleton team and a far lower initial cost. You also have to consider the fact that, even with relatively low sales, XIII-2 must have broke at least close to even, or else they wouldn't be considering a sequel.
Seems like a no-brainer to me, but like I say we don't know all the facts.
Good question. FFv13 was the only thing that Square has shown (Aside from what Edios is doing) that I care about, and if thats done then there is nothing they have shown that I want any part of.
While you're well within your rights to say that and enjoy the game, just remember that thought should it not sell as well as 13-2 which didn't sell as well as 13.
Thing is, no one gives a sh*t about the games anymore, because of the horrible story and character development, broken battle encounter systems, and flawed logic at times.
We can all remember Squall, Tidus, Jecht, Cloud, Sephiroth, Cecil and all the others. 2 games, and barely anyone remembers or wants to remember Lightning, or any of the other bland characters. Pretty graphics dont fix gameplay. The turn based gameplay had tons of strategy and loads of replay value. Not to mention free roam to an extent, and tons of hidden dungeins and unlockables.

They need to show some more FFVXIII footage. I don't buy for a second that the game is cancelled but if they don't show it at the event I guess all hope is gone.
Oh fuck yeah. Bring that final fantasy XIII-3 baby. Wooooo. I've been waiting to finish this story. Gonna love this game. Hopefully that make it as long as Final Fantasy XIII.
Please SE, release versus!! And keep it PS3 exclusive!! Just so that they can finally shut up and we can have articles about other FF titles without one of these whiners chiming off about VS!!
I mean good grief! 2 little trailers and a couple of screenshots and it's declared the best FF ever! I hope it releases and I hope it's awesome because if it's not they find a way to somehow blame X360!! You know it's true.

I liked XIII , and I'm enjoying XIII-2 at the moment so I'd like to see more.
I'd like to see Dissidia 3 but as a full on home-console game also.
And I actually like XIII's battle system, but the game overall is lacking.
The main culprits are the story, pacing, and bland characters.
FF:CC was a much better game due to the story (which we even already knew the outcome) and seeing Zack's character develop.
You can like XIII as is your right. But to dismiss other disappointed fans as purists "mad because its not turn based" is absurd.
That was the fault of "haters" too.
