When EA officially confirmed ‘Battlefield 4′ this week, it dashed any hopes of a ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 3′ release in the near-future. Here’s why we think DICE decided to jump right ahead with the core ‘Battlefield’ franchise.

you are correct.bad company WAS actually made for the console crowd,so much it never even got released on the PC. battlefield fans put there foot down for BC2 to be released....good job as we ended up with the best version. still got love for BC2 and its also my favourite next to vietnam (the real vietnam) not the add-on.
It doesn't "replace" or dash hopes of a Bad Company 3. That'd be like going "Welp, there's a new Black Ops coming, I guess that means no more Modern Warfare."
Not exactly the same thing. Bad Company and the Battlefield series are both made by Dice. Where as Black ops is made by Treyarch and Modern Warfare is made by Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer.
While I think we might have not seen the last of the Bad Company series, I don't see how or when we'd see another one. They wont release two FPS games like Bad Company and Battlefield at the same time. Next year is Battlefield 4, then it goes back to the next MOH game.
I assume if Warfighter doesn't sell well, we could see Bad Company replace that. Then we'd have a Battlefield/Bad Company release schedule.
I'm sure all the fanboys who have been hating on COD would love that!
I think it's well deserved karma on their part. The constant bf is better because of this or that is really annoying, maybe with all the turmoil goin on in their own game they will spend less time bashing cod.
BC3 is still going to release. A while back a DICE Employee(maybe former employee) had on their resume that they worked on the very early stages of BC3.
it was time for BC3 but i guess EA wanted BF 4 so it can sell another 14-20 million. This thing can also back fire on EA because BF fans are not use to having a new game every 2 years. BF games are usually supported for a long time after release
I believe with EA have so many IP's they can get medal of honor one year than do something else the next.

god I just hate BC2 fanboys... I love both BF3 and BC2, I agree that BC2 is more skill orianted and it is that becuase it has less weapons and attachments and is therefor more balanced but BF3 is just so much fun (at least pc version).
I don't care what setting etc the next bf will have, dice are amazing developers and they will deliver and if u don't like bf3 then stick to bc2 but ffs stop crying because the majority doesn't agree at all.
There's probably not going to be a Bad Company 3 because the "masses" won't understand and will think it's the same title that released in 2011 (BF3). I remember when Battlefield 3 came out, I was talking to some people about Battlefield 2 and they thought I was talking about Bad Company 2. The "masses" are not smart enough, and EA would want to avoid the confusion.

they really are not that different in the whole scheme of things. personally i think BFBC1 had better maps
