Black Ops II’s story “is better than most movies”

Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s story is better than that of many films. That’s according to game writer David S. Goyer – co-author of The Dark Knight Rises – speaking in a brand new behind the scenes video from Treyarch and Activision.

and also i love the fact that activision and infiniward split. now we have two killer FPS's rather than a good one and a crappy one. MWF3 >MWF2

its not hard to make a good story... i can make a really good one up right now. so this guy works as a janitor at a college, and finds this really hard math equation that no one can figure out and ends up solving it, and realizing he is a genius etc.

There is nothing wrong with a little confidence, but come on man. Words like that will only make people want to see you fail, and this being COD, I am sure the story will be the equivalent like a Michael Bay film, like the the rest of the series.

I like the story mode in call of duty games. Thay are a lot like a lot of old war movies.

I enjoyed the story line for the first few MW. I passed on Black Ops, but I might jump into Ops II when it drops.
Can't wait to see the Michael Bay action they have in store for Ops II

I'm not gonna lie, every CoD campaign since 4 has been brilliant so far, one of the hardest things to do in a FPS is character development and actually making you care about them, CoD games were the only ones that have ever managed to do that for me, and their campaigns are never cheesy either unlike any of DICE's games.
Every CoD game so far has had a character I felt bad for after they died.
I would give MW3 a 10/10 for the campaign, considering it's a FPS.

haha no dude cod is one of my favorite online FPS's, but i really hate the campaign. i totally disagreed with everything you said because i think battlefield and battlefield BC's story had way more substance and character likeability. i dont hate on cod im always defending it, i didnt like MFW2 that much tho. MWF3 is awesome, and this is just my opinion on the single player, i always buy it day one and jump right to the online and play it nonstop. im usually into OPflashpoint campaign or if fictional: any other FPS single player like farcry, kjillzone, crysis etc. military shooters excel in the online most of the time for me imo

Even most people who like the CoD series think the stories are ridiculous. If you don't, that's fine, but ((( IMO ))) you probably haven't seen many movies with good writing if you think CoD's writing is good.

Most movies don't have good writing either though, so the premise of this article isn't entirely out of the question.

It's a damn shoot em up video game, you can't compare it's writing to movies besides I don't care if it has good writing or not I like the stories. They don't exactly have James Cameron behind the script.

10/10 for the campaign? Now hold on a sec.. The first half of MW3's campaign was good, but then it started going downhill. I personally didn't like the ending. I also wish they put in more depth to the characters like they did in mw2 and cod4. MW3's campaign was okay, but it wasn't the ending to the mw series I was expecting.

i hope so the reason i but some COD games (believe it or not) is for the single player campaign with MW3 i wanted to kill makraov and i want to know what happend to soap. is this one its a new setting for a COD and the storyline already sounds like its a fantastic story.

Black Ops did have one hellava story. And I wouldn't be surprised considering a lot of movies suck nowadays.

I will end up playing BO2 campaign anyway considering that every COD game somehow finds its way into my house whether I like it or not.
