Next generation of consoles will arrive in 2013. This is what says "EA CEO"
EA CEO John Riccitiello said in a recent interview on a variety of issues related to EA, not surprisingly, was one of these factors on the next-generation consoles that are emerging.

That would have been the case if Wii-U was a factor and a true competitor to the 360 and the PS3.
This holiday it would really be a stretch of the imagination to say that it will be out of the gate. Especially if it doesnt compete with Xbox Live or even PSN.
Which means the 360 can enjoy another year with the Gears prelude and the Bungie shooter for 2014. And still keep the casuals coming with Kinect.
And the PS3 can can release the God of War prelude and Last of Us and hopefully Last Guardian hold off on Beyond till early 2014.
Next year will be OWNED by GTA V, Bioshock: Infinite and maybe even Watchdogs.
Both consoles will show a glimpse at E3 for a holiday of 2014.
It's going to happen..NOBODY wants to lose money anymore. A successful Wii-U won't stop a ridiculously powerful Xbox 720 and PS4.
I agree 100% i dont see the Wii-U being a threat to the PS3 and 360 if they have similar power and if ports are Nintys answer to core audience.
and as far as 720 and PS4 i think we will have another Dreamcast situation when comparing the Wii-U to those two systems, underpowered and undersupported only difference will be is that Ninty 1st party games are very strong
I am skeptical on power, but I know my favorites. PS4, WiiU, and new Graphics card I suspect I will be buying. Unless XBL goes Free so I can buy a Halobox as well.

In 2013, GTA V will be releasing on PS3 and Xbox 360. The Last Of Us, God Of War Ascension, Gears of war Judgement, new Splinter Cell, Naruto UNS 3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Patriots, The Last Guardian, new Bioshock will also be release. 2013 is already packed with tons of games, common sense would suggest PS3 and the next xbox would be released in 2014 instead.
A lot of people here will thumb me down because they act like anxious kids waiting to get their hands on a new gadget. From a business perspective, it would be not be clever to release a new console when you are releasing great games for your older consoles that cost 40 pounds each.
The PS4 will be release last because its logical that the best is left for last in society, but no matter what time the PS4 is release, I will be there to pick it up again because that is the essence of true gaming experience. To play the king of kings and enjoy it.
I comfortably play my PC in bed 7ft away using a 120hz 46" Sony HDTV. Wireless keyboard and the light weight Saitek Cyborg metal mouse pad solve the "desk only" misconception completely. Valve is even going to release a "TV Mode" catered to folks just like me for Steam.
Until this generation I never really new Japanese people are behind in terms of technology to Americans. Thannks Ha2e48 for making this known to me. Thankyou XBox community for making me know the errors of my ways, only your advanced knowledge made me realise how something that has more power is worse than something with less. It's been true for many generations. PS1 and PS2 were FAR less reliable than the competition, yet they easily outsold them, and are widely considered to be better consoles.
Technically speaking yes, yes they were. Game and support wise is a different story, then again games being better than other games is purely personal preference, so is choice of system really. Like I could say there were some Gamecube games that were much better than some of the PS2 libarary, but someone else may think the Xbox had better games.
If your going by overall sales to say the PSOne and PS2 were better than their counterparts then you do realise you would then have to accept that the Wii was the "best" this generation. Which I don't think too many people would agree with.
The sooner people realise there is no best, and it's all personal preference the better. I have a PS3 and a Wii, a DS and a PSP. I had an original Xbox too. I used to be a big Sega fan but after they went into publishing only I realised that all fan logic does is stop you playing some great games on other systems.

Ps4/720 will launch either 2013 if not they will half skip NexGen and launch in 2015 to gain power but it wont be worth the jump as a few years later say 2017 WiiU2 could launch so if they do come out next year dont expect graphics better than WiiU as seen above.

Lol no. The PS4 will be out by the end of next year for sure. Sony is obviously already gearing up for a great launch line up. Many studios like Media Molecule, Guerrilla Games, Sucker Punch, part of Sony Santa Monica and possibly the other half of Naughty Dog haven't announced any new games yet even though some we know have been working on them for years now. The games they're all working on are probably next-gen titles that will release within the first six months of the console's launch. Heck I'm betting that the Last Guardian will actually launch near the PS4's launch as well. I highly doubt it is a PS3 game at least not anymore. Seriously what kind of "technical issue" can be so big that they can't show off even a small trailer or demo? The "technical issue" is probably rewriting the game so that it will run on the PS4.
The next generation of consoles is not far off at all and Sony has for sure planned on making their launch line-up sell their console by itself.
Seems feasible about the release dates, but the strategy part is too far to see. Microsoft having only 2 killer 1st party titles a year? Thats lest then (but not considerably) the 360 line up of first parties, we also don't know if Activation would be acquired by this company.
Sony has a lot of Ips, but don't make as much as they should. I don't think they will continue to invest heavily on new Ips, that is alot of 1st party devisions. Too many could be bad in a buisness since. Having many is good for the consumer, but could be a double edge sword if they don't make profits to mantain all those parties. In a sad since microsoft having fewer Ips would make the existing ones they have now sell alot, because they have so few.I could be wrong.
acquiring activision would be pointless, the money they'd make via extra hardware and software sales wouldn't cover the cost of acquiring them nor come close to the money activision makes by selling to all the platforms; people wouldn't abandon the ps4 over COD etc; they'd still have the sony exclusives, EA and Ubisoft and Take 2 and THQ titles to play and arguably all those publishers publisher better games than anything activision puts out- not saying activision games aren't good but it would be a stupid move to buy them and make them exclusive; the reason they make so much money is because of the broad instal bases to which they sell; plus they'd still have to fulfil current contracts so for the time being nothing would change, probably not until the generation after the upcoming one...
after the lack of games at launch for the PS3 I will probably wait a year or so before I buy anyways. I have at least 30 PS3 games I haven't even opened yet and a few others I still have to finish before I do open any. Then throw in the games that are about to come out like TR, TLOU, Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite and hopefully TLG & FFvsXIII to name a few and I won't really need a PS4 until who knows when.

Early adopters get the worst deal, but are completely necessary, but ultimately they pay extra and wait longer for games(historically) just to claim the new hardware first.....
well my ps4 investment is waiting on sony to announce the thing and start taking pre orders lol, i will be getting a wiiU on launch date to play ZombieU then Skyward Sword and then the next Zelda until i see New appealing exclusive games from Nintendo, next xbox as of right now im not interested in getting one but a non shooter exclusive appealing game could do the trick.
I honestly hope not. Microsoft and Sony already have consoles that will be competing against the Wii U that have an already well-established base and great developer support.
Unless the Wii U crushes everything else in sales (which it will not as a new console), I hope the other two won't release new systems until they can offer something significantly more powerful.
Note: Agni's Philosophy was running on a single GTX 680 (card released earlier this year) and Epic's Elemental Demo on something similar.
Personally, I'd want them them to wait till they can afford something on that caliber.
I welcome nx gen with open arms but not buying into any of them unless i see @ least 3 games i really want.. Im not playing the waiting game where theres a drought of software for 3-6 months..
Ms only cares about media annd sales not the gamers. When was the last time Ms fan have a new hardcore exclusive?? They only focuse on kinect which is declining. WHile sone been releasing some new exclusive hardcore each year. i can already tell u hows its going to go down next year. Ms is going to rush and release Xbox 720 in 2013 the console will be full of bugs n problems. While Sony release Ps4 in early 2014 a console full of power with less bugs. Look at what happen to 360 and PS3. Mark my word. Btw i own both consoles im not a fan boy just a gamer.
the gen AFTER ps3/360 started in 2007 with crysis on pc, thats a full gen beyond either 2005 console, then, in 2010-2011, dx11 and games like metro2033, crysis 2, bf3, hard reset, witcher 2, ect a full 2 generations beyond ps3/360.
....but as far a the next consoles, sure that may be the year they come out, but, pc will already be a full gen beyond whatever those machines are most likely.

Watch Dogs is scheduled for NextGen Consoles. And the New Xbox is probably scheduled for Holiday 2013 and not 2014.

Wii U will find it's audience, but will pose no threat to the quality of Sony/MS.
MS will probably focus on Media capability, release maybe 2 huge killer 1st party titles a year...
Sony will invest heavily in new IP and strengthen its 1st party portfolio...
*The initial launch games (1st generation) will not be spectacular in comparison to PS3/360...but the 2nd generation of games will be.
