PlayStation Store Preview – July 17th, 2012

This week’s update is all about Dyad. Let’s face it. There’s plenty of other content, but there’s nothing quite like Dyad. It’s a little slow this week, but PSN Play is so close to kicking off and providing a steady stream of new releases including… Sound Shapes – a favorite of ours. Make sure you check out our PS Vita section to see all of the reasons to pick one up right now (sarcastic sigh). No, but really, do check out our Coming Soon section which has been updated with the entire PSN Play line-up and so much more. - PSLS (Crysis 2, Dragon's Dogma, Dyad, Lego Batman 2, Mass Effect 3, PS Vita, PS3, PSP, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, Sound Shapes, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier)

Dyad, all the way. But damn, that's a lot of new games in that Coming Soon section.

Dyad looks very good and most of all it has a unique style.

Vita? ... ? ... ?

If anything is killing the Vita it's the lack of ... you know... games. Sound shapes is coming soon, but most of the real big games won't be here for months.

I totally agree. While the Vita had a nice crop of games to begin with, it's time for some more.

It's the summer, slow season for games. Instead of complaining, go outside and have some fresh air.

^This.

Herpaderpderp. You do realize that every other console is getting more software support than the Vita this summer, right? That includes the "obsolete" PSP and DS.

And that it's not just "summer." From June to October, Vita averages about 1 game per month.

That whole, "Nogames" thing was terribly inaccurate with the PS3, but with the Vita, it's very apt.

Couple that with weekly updates of zero Vita content and Sony's insistence that they would maintain software support for the console post-launch so as not to repeat their mistakes with the PSP and PS3... and it does not paint a pretty picture.

If you own a Vita and can still somehow delude yourself into thinking that this vast swath of time with no new software is somehow excusable, understandable, or god help me a good thing... you utterly fail as a consumer.

There's no getting around it: it sucks.

Final Fantasy X is being worked on right now for both the Vita and PS3 but no release date has been announced. I myself can't wait for it, getting it for Vita whenever it does land:D
boybato  +   743d ago
I was hoping for forb(Vita) to be released, at least.

I played sound shapes for a while at the Vita Hill social club here in chicago before the vita launched... it's really not that great.. not something I'm personally excited for... we really need something else to get excited about.... hopefully they'll bring Malicious to Vita here in the states and the UK like they are in Japan, at least that or give us a release date on games like Guacamelee or Retro City Rampage.... hell, bring Okami HD to Vita!! It would work great with the vita's touchscreen capabilities......

The only thing we really have to look forward that's for sure is Ragnarok Odyssey, and that's late August...

I´m thinking where are the games for PS+ that Sony promissed in the beginning of the month. Already passed 17 days and the games are pratically the same.

Sony hates vitas
