Jimquisition: A Game By Any Other Name

*Warning: Video Contains Some Strong Language*

"What effect does a game's name have on the quality of the actual software? According to some gamers, everything! The idea that a game is bad because its name places it into an existing series is rather rife in the community, with recent Silent Hill and Devil May Cry entries providing a fertile bed of misguided anger.

Naturally, the Jimquisition is on hand to set the world right. Also, this episode is a canonically direct sequel to The Fifth Element, I've decided." (Culture)

Sterling is a great journalist simply because hes a rational human being...something that seems to be rare on the Internet. The people who complain about the new DMC and RE6 should REALLY watch this video. They'd realize very quickly how idiotic they're making themselves out to be.

It's unfortunate that there are so many irrational people on the internet. At least he rolls with the BS they fling his way though.

They make themselves evident in the random disagrees on logical comments. At least their disagreeing instead of actually commenting on things.

DMC was the first game I bought back in 2001...
alongside my shiny new Playstation 2. And I remember me and my big brother laughing so hard just at the momentous cheesiness of that scene. We were dead serious and mesmerized throughout the entire game until that scene at the end. Good memories.

Good points at the beginning, but then he starts bring up bad and proven examples like Nuts and Bolts, Syndicate or, DmC. The case with the last, to me anyway, because of how Capcom and NT handled its announcement.

Which begs the question- where is my Mega Man Battle Network 7 and Mega Man Legends 3?

Personally I think the label "Game" is becoming somewhat inappropriate to use when describing all kinds of interactive experiences. It seems ND agrees.
.

"We're trying to move the medium of video games into an area elevated in the same manner of respect of film," Balestra says. "We want to redefine what our medium is even called. 'Video game' is not an accurate name anymore. It is not necessarily a game with rules and a winner and a loser. It's an experience."

"Never judge a book by its cover" is the old saying. However, first impressions will always be there. I think gamers need to learn that just because you don't agree with a change in a franchise that doesn't mean that the game will suck.

The only ways a game will suck usually amount to gameplay, narrative, and graphics. Especially if it's blatant on how lazily done they were (i.e. glitches galore, plot holes are abundant, and attacks not hitting at all). You can criticize a move made by the developers, but don't jump to the conclusion that the game will suck just because you don't agree with something about it. You need personal experience or at least opinions from other people to get the gist of how well the game was received.

First impressions should be constructive, not deconstructive. I'll admit that I don't like the new look of Dante in DMC, but I won't deny that the gameplay does look well polished. Will I get it? No, I'm too much of a traditionalist and fan of the original Devil May Cry. Will I give a shot? Perhaps, if curiosity gets the better of me.

However, gamers should also note that if they aren't interested in something then they needn't worry about it or bother commenting so harshly about it. If the game turns out to be bad, then it's bad. But if the game ends up being fun, well done, and executed in a fine way, then the good scores will be revealed. Until then, form your own impressions of the new Silent Hill game and wait to see how well it does.

When will people realize that DMC's hate isn't just how the game looks but by the way the old fanbase have been treated by the developers. Secondly, spinoffs are great by themselves but when the main series is in jeopardy it raises concerns.

It's the same reason why Chemical Romance was bottled off stage when they were introduced in the Slayer concert. Metal fans paid to listen to thrash metal not alternative rock no matter how good it is. The same goes for games....

What he is essentially saying is to lube up and bend over because there ain't nothing you can do about it. which is sadly true.

He makes some very valid points that people need to listen to, but I don't think anybody will change my mind about DMC lmao. I am not saying the game will not be good I am saying that NT is a bunch of arrogant pusspots, and will not be getting my money.

I really liked the new Syndicate
coolbeans  +   895d ago
Really tempted to pick that up soon.
From the compliments I heard from the co-op (probably inspired by Resistance 2), it sounds like it deserves to have a decent community for a long time.

He says he's concerned about Dead Space 3, but jumps on DMC fans for being angry at Capcom? 30fps concerns me. Dante's half angel blood concerns me. Tameen's nonstop patronization of DMC fans concern me. "Not as technical as previous DMC titles or Bayonetta, but not as dim witted as GoW" concerns me.

Don't be concerned my dear hypocrite. If it's all gunz a'blazin in Deadspace 3 and probably RE6, don't worry. It still might be a good game despite shitting on the fans of survival horror games...

Another s*** video with points pulled from his disgustingly large ass.

And if Killzone 4 was cell-shaded, Sterling would be the first critic to give that s*** the 2 out 10 it deserves for going from the best looking shooter on consoles to looking slightly better than the Darkness 2.
