Gearbox: Borderlands 2 Inventory & Artwork Would Be "Fantastic" On Wii U reports: "Gearbox believes that Borderlands 2 would be a "fantastic" fit for the Wii U, though publisher 2K will apparently be taking a "wait and see" approach when it comes to potentially porting the FPSRPG over to Nintendo's new console."

"We really like the Wii U," Gearbox co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Brian Martel told us after a Borderlands 2 hands-on preview session last week. "I think it's a really cool platform. I like what they're doing - obviously with the touchscreen - and it will be interesting to see what Microsoft do with their approach to that idea. It's one of those problems of the Wii: the only people who have ever made a lot of money on the Wii is Nintendo."

But I digress.

I really enjoyed the original Borderlands title, but switching weapons and upgrading character traits, was really non-intuitive. If there is a Wii U edition of Borderlands, local co-op would be a blast to experience (the player with the Wii U game pad controller, can play on their own screen, while the other player can use the Classic controller pro and have their own screen).

I'm glad Nintendo will have a digital downloading service for the Wii U on the day of its launch, because 3rd parties will be a lot more interested in releasing content on the Wii U.

Yes! One player on the tablet controller and another player using a Pro Controler + TV. That would be awesome.

Agreed, hopefully games like BL2 will help to change people's perceptions of Nintendo consoles.

EDIT: Love the dual screen idea Jadedz and Hisiru

Then you, Gearbox, should convince Take Two showing a demo of what you can do on the WiiU using this franchise.

I am sure I would prefer a WiiU version, it's not easy to change weapons and some other things on the regular controller, so the WiiU Gamepad would be a good fit.

It doesn't matter which version you buy. Either way, you're going to be pausing the game since you would be taking your eyes away from the screen to pick your items.

You get so used to your keyboard (on PC) that you don't even need to look at the keyboard (at all) in order to write large texts because you know where every keyboard key is. Of course you will have some problems with your WiiU Gamepad in the beginning (just like you probably had with your keyboard PC when you first started using it) but you will get used to it.

So I disagree with you. If you watched some IGN hands on you will notice that people who demonstrated the games don't even needs to look at the screen because they already know where everything is.

So this excuse doesn't really work. The thing is: You will have easy access to your inventory, weapons etc, which would be great for this game. I know the second screen on the DS is very close to the other screen but I never really had to look at it in order to use some shortcuts because I know where the shortcuts are and I got used to it.

Even if you have to use your inventory (and choose some weapon) you can be fast enough to do that (while running from enemies) and it's probably more fun than pause the game.

Yea me too, it would be great if Take Two would actually let Gearbox put Borderlands 2 on Wii U and maybe PS Vita.

The idea of a wiiu version is incredibly exciting.
But I got the original on 360, and would like to carry over my save....-_-;
And then there is the possibility of a vita version?
I can't get the same game 3 times in less than a year. That would be kind of... dumb...(of course, I am willing to get mh3g a second time...>.>)

If Nintendo and the developers play their cards right, a lot of games could be awesome on the Wii U.

Something just crossed my mind, what about strategy games? Could we maybe see some pc games on the wii U thanks too its screen. Looking forward too borderlands2

Would be cool if Fortnite or XCOM came to Wii U. If you seen the Xplay preview of Fortnite, it looks awesome.

That's actually a badass idea. Imagine starcraft 2 on it. Have the buildings as icons on the tablet for easy construction. Along with other stuff.
