The Internet is Addicted to Minecraft, & You Will Be Too

'This month the internet phenomenon Minecraft was released on the Xbox 360, and in its first week sold over 1 million units to become the fastest selling Xbox Live Arcade game of all time. So just what makes the game so popular, and are you ready to put down the guns of Call of Duty to pick up the building blocks of Minecraft?' (Limbo, Minecraft, Next-Gen, PC, PS2, PS3, SpaceChem, Terraria, The Binding of Isaac, Xbox, Xbox 360)

You are right! They were so anxious for the update and now for tomorrow for all the skins. My gawd, they are hooked. Thank goodness that they are well-rounded gamers and well-verses on a variety of games, or else I'd have to rip them away and make them play something else for a bit.

No I won't, I don't play crap. I play games that are well developed, have story and great gameplay. Not wanna-be legos in a terribly made environment.

Its for people that have some creativity in their blood. I would personally never classify it as a game. You should give it a try if you have a decent imagination.

I love all the people saying "you haven't played it"...If I hadn't tried it I wouldn't have an opinion, I do not let the opinions of others effect how I feel. I can be very creative (when I'm not procrastinating) but minecraft to too clunky and headache inducing to care about. The visuals are terrible to look at so it's not enjoyable. I have spent may weeks in far cry map editor or Halo forge building stuff for fun.

Just love how people are moronic and jump to conclusions when they can't except Opinions and facts.

@Summons, they say you haven't played it cause most trolls haven't played a game they bash. I haven't played it but i really want too.

i played it, not my cup of tea, but i will say i can see how it is genious. games don't need a story, and great gameplay is in the mind of the beholder. ever play bejewled? the mine game on your pc? tetris? some of my all time favorites and so addicting at that. w/o understandable reason to hate' you will get shitted on and make yourself look like a fool.

you have been learned.

its a relaxing game...multiplayer in bf or ghost recon stress me out sometimes and i just have to put them down for a couple of days
R_aVe_N  +   829d ago
I played it for a few hours just to see what the fuss was about. I can see why people would want to play it, but I didn't enjoy it at all. It is not visually appealing to me. If it is a very casual game, and somewhat relaxing. As long as gamers are playing games who cares what they play imo.

Can I guess your age range...16-23?

One thing I have realized is that people who grew up on the NES,super NES, Sega Genesis , Nintendo 64 appreciate game like these more.

The new generation of gamers just care about pretty graphics and senseless online mutliplayer.
R_aVe_N  +   829d ago
nope I am 31 my daughter plays it and she is only 10 so you cant really make that assumption about new generation gamers. Everybody has their own personal taste.

I tried it multiple times, and am not addicted to it nor do I want to buy it....

I love how you can be creative and what not with it, but that doesn't make up for the lack of everything else and the 10 to 20 year jump backwards. I don't see why someone cant make a game with the same aspects, but put in good visuals and take the time to make it more complete.....I rather play LBP....and yes I know its not "the same"

There was another similar game with legos....er blocks, and after you build stuff you could set bombs and blow it all up. Now that was fun.

Well I'm certainly not. I like my games to have some kind of objective and ending to them.
