PS3 wowed fans at TGS 2006

Gauging by the Japanese gamers reaction to the PS3, it looks like Sony's only problem (other than getting enough consoles out there) is where to place all that cash from PS3 sales. At TGS, gamers waited for up to 70 minutes to get their hands on the PS3, which has suffered from a lot of negative hype due to its high price, a 6-month delay and predicted shortages.

The story is too old to be commented.

I don't even know where to begin to describe this article. First of all, we're looking at a select sample and extrapolating to be ALL "PS3 fans" and second, this appears to be just some blogger who made up quotes. I'm not saying that a portion didn't love the PS3, but I am SO sick of seeing random quotes and attributing it to a success. Looking at all the surveys and polls coming out after TGS is one thing...but placing a few quotes is ridiculous. At E3 this year I could have found you a dozen quotes from people who though that the N-Guage had the best showing. Did everyone who writes this crap skip high school or are we really dealing with articles written by 12 year olds.

I mean, my God people:

"Now that the PS3 is set to hit Japanese stores on November 11 and its price reduced, the question is... is there a bank large enough to hold the cash heading Sony's way?"

Yes, that is the only question. Forget everything Sony has done wrong, they don't have to prove anything to us anymore. I'll just go slap down my $600 now.

This is a prime example of companies paying bloggers for positive news...and unfortunately this person didn't mask their incompetence well.

And if we're judging line size to be a consoles succes, Major Nelson has videos and screenshots of people waiting in line for 90 minutes to play Blue dragon:

"The past three days have been filled with hundreds of games and thousands of people. The Xbox booth was always packed, with the wait to see 'Blue Dragon' as long as 90-minutes. "

Am I to take it that because MS had a line that all MS has to do in Japan is figure out where to put all their money? Of course not, we all know MS has a near impossible task in Japan, so why does a line for PS3 that was shorter than the line for blue dragon and 6 quotes THAT DON'T EVEN TO BOTHER TO MAKE UP A FAKE FIRST NAME = money in the bank?

I'm sorry, but if someone posted this as 360 news I'd be just as shocked by this ridiculous "article", so I have one more point regarding this absurd line:

"Gauging by the Japanese gamers reaction to the PS3, it looks like Sony's only problem (other than getting enough consoles out there) is where to place all that cash from PS3 sales. "

Given that Sony is taking a loss on each PS3 sold, I don't think they are going to have much of a problem figuring out where to put the money from PS3 sales.

Wow this is horrible journalism, if you could call it that.

"Sony's only problem (other than getting enough consoles out there) is where to place all that cash from PS3 sales." -- He's not even aware that Sony's loosing hundreds on each console.

Come on. Sony sucked @ E3, Sony didn't deliver enough on TGS.

Everyone expected Sony to go big on TGS. They didn't. PS3's heated up on simple games. Many problems. Lines of 70 minutes? Even the not so hot 360 in Japan got lines of 3 hours for Lost Oddyssey and Blue Dragon

By the way, Blue Dragon ingame looked damn fine to me on the Bring It Home video's of TGS!

Now the 360 whows people all the time and even in Japan on TGS.

The PS3 only dissapoints

Sony = overpromissing & underdelivering. Always

ps: Why are these messages, blogs and advertorials posted as news anyway? Get ridd of them mod's do the job properly!
