All-Stars Battle Royale: Celebrating A Game 13 Years In The Making

WC writes: There would appear at first glance to be two kinds of people in this world. Those who regard Playstation All Stars Battle Royale as a wonderful homage to some of Sony’s most beloved franchises both past and present, regardless of the needlessly long title. Then there are others who look upon the upcoming brawler royale as a cheap bastardisation of Nintendo’s greatest franchise. Of course it’s not that simple. I can’t wait for All Star Battle Royale (which from here on out will be referred to as BR because it’s a stupid name) because of what Nintendo has done with it’s own property. Battle Royale for many, much like myself has been a game that’s been 13 or more years in the making.

This game along with Little Big Planet Karting are my most anticipated releases this year, so I hope that they don't disappoint. What I've played of the LBP Karting beta so far has been absolutely amazing fun, so hopefully PlayStation All-Stars is good as well.

I'm with you on that one.
It's obviously taken the smash bros formula and mixed it up a bit and swapped Nintendo for Playstation characters and to be honest I'm fine with that.
I've wanted this game since I was a kid and so have many others, people should stop bashing it and just enjoy it. I'll be happy if it's half as good as melee.
This is a dream game guys.
Now show us Crash Bandicoot in action!

Can't wait for this game, screw the haters. Playstation has ammassed a wealth of awesome characters over the years, they can't throw them all in one game just because Nintendo does?

They should put Noctis from Versus XIII in there just for the heck of it. His character and move set would just be full of win. That game is going to be coming to PS3 at some point in the next couple of years so it would be a great marketing opportunity for Square. If not on release I hope as DLC.

On topic: cannot wait for this game and LBP Karting. Been waiting for PSASBR and a fresh kart racer for years. Despite the haters and downplayers both games look like ridiculous fun.

Yeah I had been thinking that for awhile now. Having Noctis in the game would be great, like a lil teaser till Versus XIII comes out.

Still desperately waiting for Cloud or Sephiroth announcement though :D

You can never satisfy everyone. Especially the die hard fans of the other game. I don't know how someone can become so attached and loyal to a game where anything like it they wont play and bash every little detail.
