Crysis 2 Total Conversion 'Earth 2050' showcases the need for open-world games based on CryEngine 3

Looks good but would only be good on pc.... there's a reason crysis 2 was not open world on the consoles.

Because none of the Crysis games have been open world? Thats really the only reason that it wasn't open world.

Actually crysis was really open world. Once you get the mods and cheats running it's as open world as you can get. Even the sp was pretty open in the original crysis.

Yes Crysis 1 ON PC is openworld. Open to a degree (to keep the story centered), but open none the less. It had to be changed with Crysis 2 being on Consoles based on lack of space for such a thing.

Yet Crysis 1 was ported to consoles and it remained as open world as the PC version...

If only developers invested on CryEngine 3. Here is hoping that next-generation will be more friendly to Crytek's engine

yeah only if an open world jungle game existed on made by crytek existed...building don't count as open world crytek.

We'll probably get some open world games with this engine next gen. Current consoles just cant run it good enough right now for Cryteks standards.
