As much as I love thier work, not even Quantic Dream could make a game the size of Skyrim look like that. Thats whats amazing - and desirable - about this mod.
cannon8800  +   808d ago
I think he was only comparing the faces and how much more realistic the face from beyond two souls is.
Nimblest-Assassin  +   808d ago
Its even more amazing its a mod... When I build my new computer.... I'm going to dl this mod right away
Voxelman  +   808d ago
yoi could have used an actual screenshot you know, the character model looks as good
http://images.eurogamer.net...

Pity it runs at 22fps with screen tearing tho, and that is after they cut a quarter of the screen off for the cinematic look.
"Beyond Two Souls has already accomplished that. "

Yes in a hallway..
Ps3 has some great looking hallway games in 720p, 25-30 fps & blurred out mlaa. Bravo!

Skyrim is a big world!!
My gtx670 will probably run skyrim in 1920x1200..
You won't even get that next gen on consoles.

Also why is she wearing a plastic shirt?

Why would you not get that nextgen on consoles?
Or do you mean you would not get Skyrim on nextgen consoles?
2pacalypsenow  +   807d ago
I ran skyrim with 50+ mods (graphics) and it doesn't have constant 60fps @1080p with 2x AA on a EVGA gtx 670 OC FTW

@shutUpAndTakeMyMoney

"also why is she wearing a plastic shirt?" Quantic Dream is known for making amazing looking human faces, not clothes. It takes a lot of processing power to make realistic-looking clothes, especially if it moves around according to the character's action.

"ps3 has some great looking hallway games in 720p"
come on man I thought that was a little too harsh. Beyond has some more open environments, just watch the entire demo.

Kamikaze135  +   807d ago
Sure. Let's see just how good that looks on a TV running at 720p most likely at 30fps in comparison to Skyrim running with this mod at 1080p @60fps.
2pacalypsenow  +   807d ago
the question is who will afford a pc to run it like this
ChrisW  +   807d ago
Don't know about you, but my 42" TV runs at 1360x768... And Skyrim via PC looks great!!!
EDWOLFMAN  +   808d ago
The fact that , the image you posted was probably pre rendered and not realtime footage and the skyrim enb settings are all real time settings. The fact that enb for skyrim was around before beyond two souls was announced makes your statement wrong. Skyrim enb has many different settings to make it look different.

It's a fact that it's not pre rendered. Do some research.

Skyrim Mod ENB Next Generation 3.0 Will Leave You Speechless

Don't you just love it when people over exaggerate?
InTheLab  +   807d ago
Compare to the original version of Skyrim, that statement is not an exaggeration.

Skyrim was a pretty ugly game prior to the hard work of the modders on Skyrim Nexus. If only Bethesda would have given the same effort. It's like a brand new game.

Well f*** me sideways... nice
mynameisEvil  +   807d ago
How would I go about f***ing you sideways? I'm just curious, because my girlfriend says that all the time and, for the life I me, I can't ever figure out what she wants me to do. Do I f*** her in the waist? Do I turn her sideways and do some awkward attempt at f***ing her that way? I'm so confused!

Thanks,
A curious reader

XD

Nope, i didn't leave the article speechless.
BertlSenix  +   808d ago
We don't need new consoles and PCs are for nerds without girlfriends.
We rather play crap with an Engine from 1999 cause we think that still looks good.
And PC is fake - No one can afford that and new consoles are to expensive too.
Lets all play Call of Duty for ever!!!

xDDD
Serious now
Stuff like that is always so awesome
Games that look like crap thanks to the weak 360 are saved by PC People again.
We just don't have a game that is twice as big thanks to modding but we already have a Skyrim that looks like TES6
chukamachine  +   808d ago
Looks decent, but on PC it should.

Skyrim is ok.

Elder scrolls was pure boredom.

Most openworld games get boring quickly for me anyway, so no surprise i'm guessing.
DigitalxPiracy  +   807d ago
Hater alert.
nofallouthero  +   807d ago
this is why mods are cool

skyrim is so overrated
the game sucks
clearelite  +   807d ago
but teh graphics...

I wouldn't say it "sucks" though....

mynameisEvil  +   807d ago
I'd just say it was mediocre. TotalBiscuit summed up my feelings on Skyrim perfectly with a line that I'm probably paraphrasing: "Skyrim is as big as an ocean, but has the depth of a kiddie pool."

Besides, I personally feel like Daggerfall and Morrowind were more fun, but that's my opinion. I just didn't go through Skyrim while being impressed. :/
TABSF  +   807d ago
You see what modders can do
Clearly the PC version was never pushed.

Modders had to fix the performance issues of a console port.
Modders had to put high resolution textures in before patch.
Modders now making the game look next gen, Bethesda should be paying these guys.

PC hardware can go way beyond its current position, developers are clearly holding hardware back. Modders are simply putting the professionals to shame when it comes to bug fixes and graphics.
aliengmr  +   807d ago
No, Bethesda just needs to keep supporting the mod community. Its why they didn't spend a huge amount of time pushing the limits of the PC version, they knew modders would do that for them. When a developer is humble enough to allow the community access to their tools you get Team Fortress and Counter Strike.

How good Skyrim looks is secondary to why it looks like that. Skyrim will be around for a long time because PC gamers just don't let certain games die.
TABSF  +   807d ago
I agree with you completely

However I still believe its a console port, nevertheless they have provided a great platform to mod from.

@ Izim
My point was that modders seems to had done the devs job. its great that people external from the devs can do this for the community for free.
lzim  +   807d ago
Bethesda should be paying these guys if it mattered for everyone to be playing the game as it is after the mods.

how would you even license the mod in the first place? they could pull a microsoft and sue them to stop reverse engineering their work.. lol
BitbyDeath  +   807d ago
@TABSF, that's cause PC games need to run on more than just the newer models to get decent sales.

Being able to upgrade your own components is a double edged sword.
Ravenor  +   807d ago
This is why PC games generally have sliders and little check boxes in the graphics settings.

If you have weaker hardware you check less boxes.
BitbyDeath  +   807d ago
Unfortunately it's more than just a tickbox on the development end tho.
Ravenor  +   807d ago
Of course it's more on the development end, but the PC is a great place to start integrating different features that the consoles will inevitably be able to use in later generations.

Why not streamline these things now? Look at Frostbite 2. When the new consoles launch it's going to look CONSIDERABLY better then it does now (Without any real changes) because of the work DICE put in on the PC version.
Plagasx  +   807d ago
Jesus christ, is this even Skyrim anymore???..
lzim  +   807d ago
if it is still buggy and shit.. then yes..
Erudito87  +   807d ago
i just ran the mod and it looks nowhere near as good as those screenshots on a gtx670
claud3  +   806d ago
Well, who as done it first. Its a great mod and i like them images
