I can't believe the guy is still defending this game.

He´s defending some of the design choices where DNF prevails strong where most other games of the genre completly ignore it.

Like adding puzzles, interactive scenarios, lack of seriousness in terms of character and plot, diversity in gameplay, things like that.

DNF is an average shooter but what makes it special its bold design choices that go for something more original.
