Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford explains the delay in Aliens: Colonial Marines in greater detail, stating that the game's early announcement was unusual. More details here.
Wow it's been 6 years. I didn't even hear of Aliens Colonial Marines until after AVP was released. Looking to pick this up on Wii U.
Early announcements are always bad for a game, expectations become ridiculous, some textbook examples include Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5 and even the recent Diablo 3; none of these games are bad, they are in fact great games but there is a general consensus they aren't aligned with the expectations that developed over a 6 or 8 year wait. Have my fingers crossed for FFVersusXIII as well.

The history of this game dates back to 2002 and slated for release on the Playstation 2. The game showed promise and, surprisingly, extremely detailed graphics...almost too good for a PS2 console. The game was "shelved" for unknown reasons. Here are some pics of the last project for those interested. http://media.ps2.ign.com/me...
As long as it gets released, I'm good. This game has been shaping up to be what many fans of the Alien series have been hoping for.
