Arkham City Follow-Up to Star the Justice League?

It looks like they’re taking steps to change that however as rumors are swirling that the follow-up to Arkham City will follow in the footsteps of the latest LEGO Batman game and feature the Justice League in some capacity! Variety is reporting that the next game will go back to Batman’s first encounter with the Joker and will be themed around the silver age of comics.

Batman is by far the strongest out of the DC lineup. The rest of the Justice League & their villainous counterparts are kinda kitschy (sorry Supe's but it's true).

The dark sense of realism in the Arkham games doesn't translate to the rest of DC's universe.

True, i like the dark sense and IMO the JL doesn't really belong in it. I also think they should just bring in more realistic heros and not like superheros that could fly or have super strength.

Honestly, I trust the Arkham devs to do justice to the DC universe. They've really taken and perfected Batman, and I don't believe that they would include Superman, Flash, etc, without knowing they can make it awesome.

That being said, I think the Justice League is stupid. I always have. Why does Superman need help? It doesn't make sense. At the very most, he could hire an office assistant that basically just moves kryptonite away... It just doesn't make sense. I can see why Batman might need Superman...but Superman needing Batman? Batman is a little overqualified to hide rocks.

Without BAtman DC is pretty meh anyway I always said I wanted a Baatman prequel where batman is in his humble beginnings where you start him when he's not even called batman would be epic think something along the lines of mask of the phantasm. Also I don't like the justice league idea.

I can see characters like Black Canary, Huntress, and Green Arrow making a appearance in the game. But the rest of them would seem out of place.

Doesn't really fit the atmosphere of the game seeing characters like The Flash, Green Lantern, and Superman vooming around the city, taking out every bad-guy on the streets of Gotham in a matter of seconds.

Marvel own movies, DC owns games. I guess that's how it'll always be. Man of Steel and the Justice League movies are gonna suck I already know. But this sounds pretty good. I'd like to see a good justice league game.

Yes. DC has 1 successful Video Game Franchise so everything related to DC at all will be pure gold. Even if Rovio makes it. >____>

1? You forget lego batman, and dc universe. And I didnt say evry game related to dc will be gold. obviously there is aquaman and superman whos games are crap.

As for the movies, I say theyre gonna suck because theyre taking a darker more mature route to them. That only works with Batman. And as the Marvel movies have shown, you dont have to make a super hero movie dark for it to be good. Superman is not a dark hero. he's the knight in shining armor type. His Kryptonian name is Hebrew for "voice of God" for goodness sakes.

You do realize that Superman's morals have nothing to do with the tone of the film, right? The villain sets the mood. The hero fights against said mood. This villain is Zod. It can't really be light hearted with a Zenocidal maniac!

No, they don't HAVE to be dark, but it doesn't hurt to have a Super Hero film actually be dark once in a while. Most of them aren't.

Based on what I read, it isn't directly a Batman game in the same universe. It goes back to Batman first finding out about the Joker, and a story about how he meets the other heroes.

Its a Justice League game on its own, and will be mostly to get people interested in the upcoming movie. Which sounds awesome.

I believe so. The ultimate source of this is a rather large outlet that goes on and lists everything WB is doing for the upcoming movie in 2014.

I believe we will know for sure when Superman releases, or after Batman has had its run for the summer.

The Avengers has characters of different strengths and skills, I hope that JLA properties can reflect the TEAM aspect of JLA like the comics or the cartoons.

Don't want the whole game hinged on how AWESOME Superman is or how much of a bummer it is that we "can't use him in that chapter 'cause he was knocked-out due to Kryptonite-Poisoning." *BOOOOOO*

When I look at that group shot, it just makes me think how badly DC could use an entirely scrapped line up, keep Batman and maybe Superman (maybe) and just start over.

Tbh right Batman (and on the rare occasion superman) are the only 2 heroes that DC have that are actually good lol: the arkham games so far have been fairly grounded I mean they've had the comic action and violence but they've also been dark and gritty and there's been no freaks flying around with super strength Batman is a NORMAL guy; that's trained hard is very clever and rich enough to get the gadgets he needs; no super powers going on now I feel that bringing in super powered beings like JL would really fuck with what Rocksteady have been trying to create with the Arkham games I mean if they finished off the Arkham series; or put a 3rd game out giving it some closure; then made a separate series of batman/JL games then fine and clearly they could if they wished one day revisit Arkham however I think from the way the "identity theif, watcher, and riddler" side missions end Rocksteady had a 3rd arkham game planned and it was a sequel: that said WB could always force them to do it in pursuit of more hype/attention to their JL film (which I really think will suck because of the characters they have- they aren't marvel they don't have the mass appeal and good god I hope they don't try and use the batman chris nolan has created that alone would kill the JL film before it begins they'd need another new batman). So I hope I'm right when I say this is complete bullshit :/
