Play Crysis At Ludicrous Quality, Watch Your PC Cry

If you think your PC has the balls to run Crysis at its very highest settings, then there's a small article over at Planet Crysis that you should read.

Okay, when I say "very highest", I'm not talking about moving all the in-game sliders to the far right. To see what pain Crytek's shooter is truly capable of dishing out on your humble PC, you'll need to dive into the game's configuration files and tweak a few settings.

The ps3 can do this while its rsx is down! LOL
The 360 can do this with the help with of another 500 360's.

stfu man, this has nothing to do with 360's or ps3's so come on, no one wants to hear that sh*t.

Man, what kinda rig would it take to run it at those settings?
im getting a new PC soon, and have quite a bit of extra cash sitting around so im looking at going all out (and i mean all out like 6k all out) ... will that be enough to please the crysis gods?

Rice3802d ago

F.A.G is such a F.A.G, lol....
If u have the money, try buying one of those dell xps desktops... Those are sexy, but u can probably build a bettter rig with half the cost.

iceman29293802d ago

lol, no dell for me... but i have been looking at some setups from ... i know u can build better, but im a noob with hardware so id rather spend a little extra nd get it done right

If you got 6k, I would get that alienware that they showed at ces with the curved screen. It's the equivalent of 2 24 inch monitors. That has got to be the best way to enjoy crysis. I have a dual core pentium D with a 8800 GT and the auto configuration wizard says I can't even run crysis, but I run it anyway on vista with a combination of very high and high settings with decent framerates at 1024x768. I haven't finished it yet, but it's the best fps I have played so far. The number of ways you can take out enemies is amazing due to the size of the environments and the suit.

xplosneer3802d ago

I got a pretty good Dell XPS 420 3GB's of RAM Vista, and an 8800GT for 1,300 shipped. With 6K you can probably get a 710. Not bad. The 420 was actually comparatively priced with newegg, and that's not including the case.

nstott3802d ago

Did you get a cable card with that, so you can record premium cable like hbo etc?

Kleptic3801d ago

I have no experience with tweaking Crysis, but most claim you can max it out by spending like $1500 on a home built rig...and that is currently, not the chumps that say "well I built one for $1500 back in May 2007, and it won't touch it"...with the prices of cards dropping quickly, I am not surprised of what you can get for your money now...

but seriously dude...6,000 is a total waste...always has will save you an extra 6 months of not needing to upgrade...spend a max of 2k the 4k...for upgrades later on...4k will by a lot more impressive stuff in 3 years than it will right now, especially considering Crysis is the only game that will even tax a more or less competant gaming rig (haha aside from AC it seems)...there is no need to dump that kind of money on it...if anything, throw that money in a fire, it will look cooler...

choldstare3801d ago

Absolutely NO POINT to spend that much money. You can get an INSANE computer for 2k-3k MAX. 6k??? Dude dont let those prices fool you there is absolutely no point the preformance increase would be minimal imo. And learn to build your own pc dont let it intimidate you its just like putting lego pieces together just different pieces. All you have to do is go to google and type how to build a computer. Countless forums and people out there willing to help you without asking for an extra $4000.

don't be fooled, this article links to tweaks for crysis that enables u to play ultra high settings with playable framerates on less than spectacular machines(non sli setups), it is a very good article and provides a link to the tweak,
I'm using it now and got a 4 fps boost from using high settings and some medium/very high settings previously and it looks spectacular even way better than very high settings and yet plays even smoother than high/very high/medium mix

Danielson3802d ago

i just did this, it looks amazing, it runs around 30 fps, but i put it back to the norml. high settings because it runs around 50 fps.

stevenhiggster3802d ago

I was playing Crysis the other night and cooked my raphics card :-(
It was a 8800gt and its dead now! I hate crysis, I've sent the cooked one back and bought another, so when my cooked one gets replaced I'm gonna sli them, then I'll cook Crysis!!
