More 'Tales' remakes planned, confirms series producer

Series producer Hideo Baba said that the releases will provide new fans of the role-playing franchise a chance to revisit the series's roots.

"We are planning to re-release old games to other platforms in the future, because the old games have some origin and offer standard features of the Tales series," he said.

"We want to give some opportunities to current fans to play the old titles."

Namco will "remake the titles with some improvements" and "improve the graphics to make it more accessible".

Baba added that fans should "stay tuned for more updated information".

Tales of Destiny is one i would like to see be remade or remastered. It is arguably the most successful game in the Tales franchise.

Although it is really dated (the game came out in 1997) the story is still one of the best in the series. The remake for the PS2 never made it to the west & from what i have seen it looks really cool. I hope they remaster this version.

Cool, but can we retro-fit some of them with the battle system from Graces? I know some purists would be unhappy about it, but if it's a genuine re-make, then it's impure to begin with :p

Those are wasted tears. Be thankful Vesperia got -any- localization, period. Instead of lamenting ports of games we've already had localized, maybe it's time to focus on trying to get new games localized?

Well, not that it matters. When it comes to Tales... and, well, most everything else, Namco-Bandai doesn't really pay any attention to the fans. Or common sense, for that matter.

I hope they revisit Tales of Legendia. My first tales game and along Destiny and the Phantasia and the only ones i have enjoyed because later the franchise became a Walking annoying Cliche wich characters coming out from the book "How to make cliched characters for your JRPG".

I know it's not the same thing but I wonder if this is why suddenly a number of UK sites have more copies of Tales of Vesperia available since it must be being reprinted.
