I don't care about numbers for the most part either, but its stupid not to care about them at all. What I mean is that if a game doesn't sell enough, there wont be sequels.
I pay attention to the games that I really enjoy and hope they do well so that they can continue on with the series. Bulletstorm is the perfect example of a game that I loved, but didn't sell enough to garner a sequel.
"but its stupid not to care about them at all." It's not stupid to not care about sales, it's called casual gaming. Max Payne 3 was received pretty good by the critics, and while it's not doing too well sales wise, it can still receive a sequel later on. Look at Far Cry, F.E.A.R, White Knight Cronicles or Demon's Souls. Didn't do great commercially (and some critically either) yet some of those games received one or more sequels since their release.
As a gamer, you should be more concerned about the quality of the game rather than how it sells. Great games usually will receive the sequel they deserve.

OT: Brilliant deal, RDR is my favourite game this gen.
I'm shocked, great franchise. Great game. They took time, it looks amazing. It's spot on to be honest.
If anything this was used to pass the time until GTA V anyway.
