Tencent's Ma Hua Teng: my kid is one of the biggest fans of Call of Duty Series

It's way too obvious that Call of Duty has become the best FPS icon in the worldwide gaming market, especially for its Modern Warfare Series. During Call of Duty Online's Chinese press conference last night, Tencent's big boss Ma Hua Teng said even his 6-year old boy is one of the biggest fan of Call of Duty Series. (Call of Duty Online, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

6 year old playing call of duty... Idiots like this are why I have to show my ID to buy a game.

Showing your ID is a good thing, means that you cannot purchase what you are not old enough for.

If anything blame your parents for not being being more like that kid`s father, or any other parent who allows their underage kids to play T or M games.

@ rezzah, you won't be saying that if your kid played COD and decided put a bullet in your head the next day for fun.

A 6yr old child's mentality is not capable of understanding and debating complex issues like war and violence yet. At this age, their logical thinking pattern is still so innocent, they'll literally act out whatever they see around them. It's their most "learnable" period and also vulnerable time depending on the information you feed to them.

That is why their best hope is the teachings of the parent, the ones who I suppose they would listen to and trust the most.

Take them away and most hope is lost.

People of all ages like COD, how else can it sell so many?

There are some who don`t mind their underage children playing high rated games, just as they are likely to allow them to watch 14 and up movies. Hopefully the child doesn`t end up not knowing the difference between reality and fantasy. Though it is a rare occurrence, even for adults, the issue with any game over movies is the interaction. Also violent games can make people feel no emotion to real life violent situations.

Then again, their culture is very different from ours so their general perspectives on age to height of rating may differ. However, any biological affects will remain the same.

I think that once you have the kids interested you have the sales.

I agree. As a parent, it's already against the law to allow your child to play war-based games, worse still, this retard actually shamelessly and looks happily talked about it openly in the media. Really saddening.

Talk about 5,000years of civilization and good parentinghood. I swear some people really do not know how and when to act appropriately.

I do not have any form of optimism at all for mankind's future...seriously.
