SCEE has revealed that over 830,000 gamers entered the Nissan and PlayStation GT Academy Online Competition across Europe.
The prices sucked arse though. I mean, really cars that are already in the game but skinned with a GT Academy logo? How lame. I swear, the car selection in gt6 better be good or it's going to be the first gt I'll pass on. That's all polyphony did in gt5 recycle and re-skin a bunch of cars. Let's not forget that the dlc cars were just as lame. Also in total they will be giving away 7 recycled and re-skinned cars every week. Yup must wait 1 week at a time for polyphony to re-skin cars?
Some people are just never satisfied i guess ... im pretty happy with the selection. Im not a huge fan of automobiles, nascar, and all that stuff though...but i enjoy playing this game. I guess to me it just doesnt matter if theres 1 billion different cars ... i feel like theres way more than ill ever play with anyway. Wont see another game with more cars anyway.
Gt5 was my first ever game in the series and I can see why people rate it soo highly, the game is a masterpiece and seperates itself from a lot of other racers out their. People who complain can't appreciate it for what it is and whine about the most simple stuff when polyphony digital tries and brings updates and support to the game even though it's almost two years old. I say keep up the good work guys and dnt forget who made gran turismo what it is today, Sony and their consumers. .
GT is in a league of its own. No other game really compares to how intricate everything is, from the graphics, to the modding and everything in between. "Haters will hate" is a term often used that fits here. When you're amazing at what you do, theres always people out there who will downplay you and try to take yo udown a notch. almost a million ppl participating in europe alone. And some ppl have the nerve to say no one plays this anymore ... lol. I play it, but i dont participate in the academy, im sure most players dont. So the number of participants alone shows how this game is still chugging along just fine.
Heck I didn't participate in GT Academy either, and don't play GT5 as much now that I have my own car that I regularly take to the track :) But whenever I do go online there's still loads of people playing this game.
