IGN: Gaming's Proudest Moments

"Countries celebrate their achievements and milestones in different ways. While July 4th may resonate with those of you living in the United States, it means less -- perhaps nothing -- to gamers in other parts of the world.

"But many video games, especially now, have tackled themes of country. Considering the occasion, we reflected on moments from these games that inspire and move use. Games that not only explore men and women's pride in their country, but the great spirit of humankind as a whole," writes IGN. (Final Fantasy Tactics, Homefront, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, PC, PS3, Sid Meier's Civilization V, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Valkyria Chronicles, Xbox 360)
