Unconfirmed: Capcom To Announce Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3: Uncanny Edition At Evo?
With just two days before EVO 2012 a rumor has surfaced claiming that Capcom will reveal an Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3: Uncanny Edition during the event that will include new characters, modes and more.
(Capcom, EVO 2012, PS3, Xbox 360)
And this is why I will never ever ever ever ever ever buy another Capcom fighter titles on Day 1. They have a good habit of doing this. Watch them throw Megaman in there to.
Cmon, we're complaining about $15 for 4 new characters? That's $3.75 per character, meanwhile Mortal Kombat was charging $5 per character and BlazBlue $8 per character. Also this is going the same way Street Fighter 4 did, $60 release followed by $40 rerelease and finished with a $15 dlc addon/$40 disc release so this would likely be the last version if true.
@Soldierone I'm just saying people seem to be really upset about this and when compared to other fighting games it's not a bad deal. Either way, I don't believe this rumor for a second so what I say probably doesn't matter.
I'm with you. I bought Street Fighter 4, and watched as Super, and then the final version release.
IMO there's no point in buying the games Day 1, unless you're a pro gamer. You're paying $60 for the first game plus $15 DLC for each upgrade afterwards, and that's if they don't force you to buy the new game for $40 claiming "significant upgrades to balancing issues".
Why pay $90, when you can get the final true version for $40, or better yest get the Vita version Day 1 for $40 (if you have one), because the Vita version of all these fighting games IMO have been better than the console versions.
I don't know on CoD, the campaign is completely reworked and so is the spec-ops. I don't mind it as much, but this MvC update better be large. Most of these additions can be done with just a DLC. All they usually have are a few more characters.
I'm cool with DLC! Just don't make it a full retail release ONLY.
2d fighting games are hardly even worth 15$ let alone the 115$ if you bought each edition new just to have one complete game lmao. i want me some powerstone 3.
The article claims it has Megaman, Nitro. Maybe it changed since you read it?
To me, this is no different from SSF4: AE - it's a completely non-offensive upgrade, and an opportunity for people who waited, like you and I, to have fun with a much better version of the game.
Now, if this turns out to be retail disc-only, then I'll totally rage!
You guys seem to be willing to believe anything, I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is total BS. Or Maybe you just like talking about how much you hate Capcom, that works too.
Yeah, I believe it. Capcom does stuff like this all the time, why shouldn't we believe it now? All they do is prove time after time how unimportant their consumers are to them. They'd break your legs for a nickel lol.
I simply cannot believe they'd do this again. If releasing umvc3 wasn't a slap in the face a year after mvc3. Then this must be a kick in the nads no?
$15.....impossible. Not once this gen has a game released for less than $39.99.....and I'm talking physical copy. Dlc? Possible....if its going to happen at all.
I swear Capcom gets so much undeserved hate (and for how much hate they 'do' deserve, wow). All they're doing is making a $15 dlc pack, and you act like this is something unordinary. Every game has DLC, why not Marvel?
Because DLC is supposed to be worked on after a game is released and they couldn't fit it in. Not on the disk only used as a tool for prying more money from your pockets with their soul-less hands. When I buy a game/disk, I buy THE WHOLE DISK if you like it or not. If you disagree, go f yourself.
Man do you even know what you're talking about? Ultimate came out 8 months ago and people hack the discs that's how we knew the 12 SFxT dlc characters were on disc and they didn't find anything relating to any of these characters that wasn't already available in the game. Whether you get everything on the disc when you buy it is a whole other can of worms, but these character's aren't on disc if they were we would have known about it in November.
Blade was too similar to Deadpool. Who knows where daredevil is at? Doc ock wasn't technically feasible (lol) and black panther was too similar to TASKMASTER (mega lol) The only thing those two have in common is BP used a sword. Comparing to X-23 and wolverine maybe but taskmaster????
And you can make phoenix wright playable but not doc ock..... I bet Capcom have them all stored on a hard drive and are charging for them later. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Why invest in MVC4 when you can keep pumping expansions out for 3. They will buy it anyway so why not? Its the ultimate cash cow. Ultimate marvel vs cash cow 3 super turbo uncanny edition.
It's my theory that they are saving him and Megaman X for the next crossover game. If they use up all their most wanted characters now they won't have any selling points for later games (Ex: Dante being absent in Tatsunoko vs Capcom to be saved for Marvel vs Capcom).
AGREEEEEED... IMO Tekken is the best of the fighting games to handle characters "old school" style ( I never thought the proper way would be called old shcool )instead of edition after edition ...
i still haven't bought this game, if they do offer maga man and ant man as dlc, then why not i might pick up a used copy and download the dlc for $15, all together it'll probably fairly cheaper than $60.
Watch them throw Megaman in there to.

No thanks, I will play it on my console, because the PS Vita is damn expensive.
$250 for a handheld is just too much. $250 for long-haul plane tickets is cheap-o.
depends where your priorities lie.
always best to wait at least a year before dropping however much money on an accessory, even though its tough
They're always updating their fighting games, its just the way it is! I welcome new characters and tweaks and I'll gladly pay $15

*cough*Google SFxT for PC*cough*
Servbot really? I mean at least put Captain Commando or someone else in that spot
And then they do it again and some fanboy goes...
"But, but, but, but guys...why are you believing rumors, they would never do this?!"

Scamcom indeed.
