Porsche, Story Mode, New DLC, Video Editor???? - The Best Console Racing Series of ALL-TIME continues. The only "game" that can take you from the couch to racing for a race team at Le Mans or Brands Hatch & podium finishes. Nothing else is in its league.

Since the release of forza on the original Xbox, the gt series has been consistently rated lower than forza. Gt5 hasn't even been able to beat a single forza title this gen and has had 6 years in development to do so.
The only reason there is nothing else in gt's league is because gt is in the minors while forza is in the majors.
PD are great developers and I grew up playing and loving all the gt titles since gt on the first play station. However there wasn't any competition at the time so there really wasn't any way to compare gt to anything. When forza came out and I gave that a try, there was no doubt in my mind and the industries mind which franchise took the crown. Forza was the new king and haven't looked back since.
GT franchise needs to step up to compete with forza. It's becoming more and more difficult for PD every couple of years since Turn 10 keeps raising the bar.
Turn 10 have been able to release 3 forzas this gen with forza horizon coming soon while PD took 6 years to make gt5 which pales in comparison to forza, released 5 years into the ps3's life cycle causing starvation to ps3 only owners looking for a true sim racing game on their system and they ended up getting an unfinished game with 80% of unfinished cars, numerouse dupe cars and limited manufacturers. Still waiting on Porsche and still waiting on a more diverse car lineup.
Gt was the undisputed king prior to forza there is no question, but there wasn't any real competition to compare gt to either until forza.

Forza has been releasing monthly car packs since last November with about 10 unique cars in each. That's aprox 70 new unique cars since forzas 4's release and each car pack allows for a free car that you don't need to pay for.
I assure you turn 10 is showing you how to support a game, not PD who has released very limited content.
So nice to know that a product I bought 2 years ago is STILL getting support. I would rather have it this way then have to buy a new game every year/other year.
I think GT5 is by far the best console racer. While I own GT5, there's nothing else out there worth spending my money on. So I'm MUCH happier spending a few dollars a month expanding the experience I already know is near perfection for my taste, than I would be spending $60 on a game I already know won't be as good as GT5 in terms of the most important things, like physics, and chances are I may not even like at all.
Shift was the last racer I gambled on. I was like "oh, NFS is going back towards sim, I can play the series again"............ there was $60 wasted.
If I were to have my wish, GT5 would get a bunch more track DLC and a "spec 3" that incorperates car bodies into the simplified cockppit view for standards, open all custom rims for standards not just the some now, and a new a-spec section for people with the DLC using the new tracks along with the old. And maybe more control over the course creator. The game would be perfect with these changes.
Just keep supporting GT5 until PS4 comes out, and save GT6 to come out by the PS4's first birthday.
GT5 is awesome no doubt...better than any racing sim on the console circuit IMO...but my HDD space is limited and my GT5 Bluray installs/DLC eats up almost 13GB to date...time to upgrade cos I luv me sum GT5 :)
I have a 2TB External HDD hooked up to my PS3 for movies, music...some game saves
...it's a shame you can't transfer DLC/PSN Games or installs to it though. Does anyone here know if that's possible?
Sony could have made this a feature and ensured the games read from the Ext HDD match only the consoles they were transferred from....it would be so easy!
No it isn't in the game, it comes from the Developers. Forza 3 was the "definitive racing game" this Generation. That is a direct quote from the head of T10 studios when it was announced at a game show.

hennessy and Forza in here praising some other game, but they'd be all up in arms if someone has ONE thing to say about Forza.
