ZI writes: Often times around these parts we are unfairly mentioned as “Zelda haters”. Now, any educated reader who actually takes the time to read our articles, our opinions, and our news reports would see Zelda praise all over the place. Even when we are being critical of the series, or it’s sales, we are still saying some very nice things about Zelda. However, one game lately seems to always bring the mallet down on us in the court of public opinion: Skyward Sword.

Yes I was more blown away by skyward sword the these amazing games last year. its a shame a game su ch as this a interactiveart didnt get much attention as cod n graphics obessed gamers.
As a big Zelda fan I'm sorry to say it was really bad...especialy when Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and even the good old Ocarina of Time were amazing.
It got repeative fast and it didn't really feel like there was much going on compared to past Zelda titles. I honestly couldn't believe the good scores it got when it's probably the most linear Zelda game in recent years. Lets not forget you had to use the Wii Remote...no option to play the game with a gamecube controler or the retro one.
I honestly think it only got good scores because of the brand name, with Zelda the actual gameplay is the last thing journalists review.
Except Skyward Sword. I got it 5 or 6 months ago, and I can just rarely motivate myself to play it. It's so repetitive and has so much backtracking, I also perfer the darker zelda art,but that's just me. My favorite was link to the past, and then maybe it's a tie between oot and tp. SS is definitely towards the bottom
I do find their points interesting since I hated Skyward Sword, almost to the point I don't even want to play any future games from the series for fear of more heartbreak (OoT is my favorite game, Majora's Mask is 4th and the rest that I've played so far are in my top 15).
For the record, I loved the motion controls and the graphics. It was other things that made it so rage inducing.
I have no problem defending this game:
- Skyward Sword's run, climb, and stamina mechanics were an awesome addition to the series. Most people complain about the motion plus gameplay, but I have never had any issues. Infact, I would argue that it was able to bring back the action packed feel of the original, 2D Zeldas.
- The dungeon maps were much more detailed. I was actually disappointed when I discovered that there was no compass... until I saw that I didn't need it. Mini bosses were brought back, as well Boss (re)battles
- The addition of upgrades really won me over. It is almost impossible to beat Hero Mode without potions. Infact, I couldn't even beat Demise without the Hylian Shield (...yet).
In closing, Skyward Sword never had to be the best. Skyward Sword simply just had to add to the series as a whole. I think that Skyward Sword not only accomplished this, but more so than The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
But TLOZ:SS, was very "Monster Hunter-esque." You had to collect certain items to upgrade Link's arsenals.
Making the title a "motion plus exclusive", alienated itself from the traditional gamepad controller crowd, but it also innovated on LOZ:SS's gameplay mechanic, and it demonstrated that motion controls aren't as bad as people say it is.
I give Nintendo a lot of credit for making one of their most cherished ip's, a motion plus exclusive (it was a huge risk they were willing to take, it seems).
for me, minish cap and SS are the two best zeldas ever, but that's my opinion, you shouldn't make articles about your opinion...
some ppl like cars and others like bikes, is any of them right or wrong?
Zelda Past and Majora's Mask remain the very best followed by the excellent OOT
