Hindu leader still upset over SMITE, says Kali looks like a porn star

XMNR: Hindu statesman Rajan Zed expressed his dismay on Saturday over Hi-Rez Studios decision to remove Hindu deities such as the goddess Kali from the free-to-play MOBA, SMITE. (PC, Smite)

Pic #1 is Kali the Goddess of Time, Change, Death, War depending on the age of the Hindu person you speak with from the Game Smite!

Pic #2 is an acceptable image of kali as seen in India in many Indian buildings, homes, offices, cabs, places of worship, etc..

Now here we have a 4 armed women with a bloody blade, holding some man's severed head, wearing a skirt made outta arms, a necklace made of heads, a six inch tongue covered in blood, standing on Shiva who is "Eaten by kali" according to Hindu Myth and this MOFO wants to complain that Smite's Kali looks like a "Porn Star"!

"Come on Man"!!!

A skirt made outta arms and your complaining about bigger breast and a G-String!

Could always say she is a new form of the Na'vi from Avatar. Nothing wrong with that Kali in the game I find and nothing wrong with the other pic of Kali either. Honestly it looks like a modern version of Kali the other photo looks out dated. I wonder who would win if this new Kali took on Kratos in a fight her new look makes her suited for God of War and the new Kali does not look like a pornstar.

What a whiner, as a Christian i've seen a lot of satirical representations of God and Jesus. Do I mind, yeah I do, I won't buy the game or watch the movie. But am I going around threatening companies and people over it, no way. Everybody is entitled to their opinion or artistic outlet.
And your deity walks around half naked dressed with body pieces, seems to me your fighting a losing battle at that point

I find it funny but disturbing with the fact that so many people are so quick to judge something they don't fully understand. They look at one picture and see a barbaric warrior goddess and I bet my life saving that this is the first time they're actually seeing a picture of our Kali. The fact is that this goddess plays a huge role in many people's lives today. It may be some insignificant idol to you but it doesn't mean it isn't for anyone else.

If they had created a similar character to Kali, named it something else it would never have been an issue. How many times has the name Shiva been used in video games (final fantasy, resident evil) and noone said a word because it looked NOTHING like our God Shiva. However they didn't even change the name and you can imagine why people would feel outraged, watching our goddess die after being beaten to death by enemies. And this isn't a mark against democracy. India is a democratic country and have fought it's share of wars for democracy as any other country. This is a matter of respect. The US and England emphasise a lot on multiculturalism. When you have a multicultural society you're expected to embrace and respect each other's belief and the right to believe in what they want to whether it be Hinduism or Christianity or even atheism. So I can understand why he would be so upset about this game, but he has as much of a right to have an opinion as anyone here has.
I don't expect this opinion to be popular, bring on the disagrees and hate filled atheists who have nothing better to do than to insult anyone who believes in anything.
