This game looks really good for a 3DS game (we should keep in mind the 3DS resolution is much lower so it will be much better on the 3DS screen with original resolution +3D effect, just look at TriG)
It also looks really fun! I can't wait to play it!
@Hisiru This game will launch in 2013, so it's an unfinished game and it will probably look better with 3DS resolution on the 3DS screen as you said. It seems to be open world this time (which is a huge improvement in my opinion).
I will have to see more, I am not sure about the gameply.
aaaaaack, screw vita or 3ds. this looks like crap.....this is a main entry into the series......it should be on a console. its a jaggy mess, and looks like a step back from the others
should be on ps360wii-u
my freakin eyes....the jaggies, the polygons....gaaaah.
while it doesnt look bad for a 3ds game, it doesn't erase that it should be on consoles.
just when i play dragons dogma it gives me a tiny taste of what a new monster hunter could be......then we get this...., i mean they are normally on the psp....but i dont remember it looking that bad on psp either, blaaah im spoiled i guess
Lucretia, you probably know the 3DS resolution is MUCH lower and that's why we see a lot of jaggies and bad polygons on this video. Even Monster Hunter TriG (on the 3DS) looks better than tins on the 3DS screen, so it's safe to assume that Monster Hunter 4 will look incredible on the 3DS's screen + 3D effects.
Stop crying/trolling and buy a 3DS so you can have the best of both worlds (3DS + vita) like me.
And it's funny how people play graphics and not games nowadays. "graphics looks like crap, I don't know if I will play it". lol
The game looks REALLY fun and full of action with some new elements and monsters.
Lucretia, if you came up with a confirmed conclusion on the graphics of this game based on a large YouTube video of it almost a year before its release, then you're seriously dumb. It's a YouTube video. When the game is FINISHED and released next year, go play it and experience it for yourself with your own eyes on the 3DS screen to THEN talk about its final graphics, otherwise you're just pointlessly hating on a short clip of an unfinished game on a YouTube video.
And to say it "should be" on a console that YOU like is selfish and pathetic. Millions of people are going to enjoy this title, what the hell is wrong with that? Just because you have some pathetic close-minded opinions of the 3DS?
@Karooo I think it's a dumb move to limit yourself to only one console. Both 3DS and Vita has tons of great games and this is one of the games that will be available for the 3DS just like Soul Sacrifice will be available for Vita. In order to enjoy both games you need both systems.
@Lucretia Not really. Monster Hunter is a portable experience in Japan. If the game is fun I don't care if it's a portable or console game.
This game was birthed on the ps2 and it should have stayed that way. I'm just as upset as any other Mh fan who doesn't want to convert to any other system.
"Convert"? Why should it be considered "conversion"? I will never understand why people limit themselves to one system. Why limit the games you play? If you're a real Monster Hunter fan than BUY a 3DS if you want to play Monster Hunter 4. It's not like that would be BETRAYING Sony. You can be a Sony fan and still game on another platform dude.
These are grown people with jobs, $169 is nothing if you get a decent paycheck. Also, these are the same people who bought a PS3 at launch, or bought a Phat PS3 and then a Slim when it came out, and a Vita at $250, and an expensive memory card to go with that, so money definitely can't be considered the problem here.
And Kingdom Hearts started off of Playstation as well, and I KNOW these Sony fanboys played'em on PS2 and played Birth By Sleep on the PSP, so Dream Drop Distance would appeal to them as well.
There's other games they'd buy although they wouldn't admit it. You don't think they would've bought Resident Evil Revelations if it was on the Vita instead?
@Shok
But I don't want a 3DS. PSV has a bigger and brighter, more contrast OLED display, and built-in second analog, and more functionality. As for me, I will not buy a 3DS untill Nintendo make a buil-in second analog (yes, I have a job and $169 are not an issue, but Nintendo is making new versions of 3DS every year, adding features, so I'm not going to pay $169 today just to pay $200 more later for the two-sticks version, when two-sticks version had to be a mandatory from the very beginning, I'm not going to support such consumer milking), but even then it will not have amazing OLED display.
At least Capcom could make a multiplatform release for g-d sake. It would definately improve the overall sales of the game. I mean, multiplatform games are common trend nowadays, so why no multiplatform MH4?
You are a prime example of a fanboy. Not buying other systems because you would think it would be betraying Sony. Just because a game starts on one console doesn't mean it had to stay on one console.
By your logic Elder Scrolls birthed on PC so it should stay on PC.
Elder Scrolls became MULTIPLATFORM, so everyone can play it. But MH4 became exclusive from one system to another. It is no multiplatform. So your argument with Elder Scrolls is invalid. Why couldn't MH be multiplatform so everyone could play it on a platform of their choice? Why Capcom is forcing me to buy a system I do not want?
What is really hilarious is that if some Nintendo fanboy said the same thing about Metal Gear starting on Nintendo and thus should have remained on their systems thereafter, you would be the first one calling that guy a troll.
Capcom is scared to make a HD Monster Hunter. Same reason they canceled Monster Hunter 3 for PS3 just to develop Monster Hunter Tri for Wii because it was much easier.
Explain to me why most developer were complaining about how hard it was to develop on the PS3 at the beginning of this gen. It couldn't be the fanbase because it only sold 2 million while the PSP Monster Hunters sold more. The Wii is a casual console and Monster Hunter is for the hardcore audience. If they had continue to make Monster Hunter 3 for PS3 it would have been the best Monster Hunter ever by using the PS3 tech.
a good comparison, yet different game on the ps3 would be dragons dogma, which is also made by capcom. its a little monster hunter, Wrpg, and devil may cry mixed into one thing. its very very good.
has big monsters to fight, climb them, hit weak spots etc but also has alot of rpg elements and a big open world that doesnt get boring
Freedoms Unite is the best most complete western release thus far. It has everything the first and second had, and a whole lot more. It is also far more challenging than any other release so far.
Was Dragon's Dogma some sort of test for this game?? With the jumping onto monsters backs and attacking them??
I've been a fan since the first game and I have sort of lost that excitement for this game. The graphics just aren't the same and I just don't like the fact that they keep switching consoles, especially when creating the main series.
They should of stuck the main series on the PS2 and moved to PS3 and the Portable versions to the PSP and actually release them outside of Japan. What's the point in building up a franchise and releasing different games outside of Japan, then change consoles, stop releasing outside of Japan and then go and release Dragon's Dogma which pretty much slaps the Monster Hunter fans in the face.
Sorry for the rant, but I've loved Capcom for a while, I've enjoyed DmC, MH, RE, etc. and they just don't seem to get that what they are doing is going to hurt them really badly. It's not going to matter what we do, because they pretty much have the whole of Japan behind them to keep them afloat. Boycotting Capcom isn't going to do anything because they will just stop releasing games all together outside of Japan and stick to developing games for Japan.
I've not played Capcom's earlier games, but for those of you who have, I do feel sorry for you and feel your pain for feeling betrayed because that is how I am feeling right now.
I don't want to climb all over normal class monsters like the Tigrex and Rathalos. Shit's dumb. I understand Elder Dragons, and big Event monsters like the other PSP titles. Add that in with the cutscene "monster chases" they showed at TGS last year, and I'll be passing on this title. As well as a 3DS until it gets some games to please me.
only reason this is only announced for the 3ds is because 3ds games running on slower tech are cheaper to make, and they know monster hunter zombified fans will buy anything. it's not about quality at capcom as usual, just moving as much product for the most profit by any means necessary.
On E3 2011, when presenting the PSV, Capcom showed a Vita-techdemo of Lost Planet 2. And they said that it is really easy to develop for PSV and they made their techdemo just in two weeks. So I really don't understand, why Capcom didn't announce a multiplatform release of MH4.
Looks great! One things for sure, Capcom are wizards when it comes to the 3ds. Revelations looks like a 360 game at times (obviously not as good but on the 3ds screen it looks like one) and tri-g is one of the best looking handheld games. Its a full wii game (with new content) shrunk down onto a 4gb cart. When this drops i bet Japan declares a state of emergency from everyone missing work lol. If any country want to invade and conquer Japan all the need to do is release a FF, MH, and Pokemon all on one day and just waltz into Tokyo and plant a flag.
>Revelations looks like a 360 game at times
Don't fool yourself. Just play the RE4 HD remake to see much more detailed game that was made on GameCube hardware.
I finished Revelations and then played RE4HD and my hype for detalisation in Revelation scenes went off, because it's far from even RE4.
It also looks really fun! I can't wait to play it!
Love you 3DS!

Hand held gaming FTW... ^.^;
should be on ps360wii-u

Also, here is TriG footage on the 3DS screen:

I swear, gamers' mindsets these days....

Silly fanboys and your hypocritical logic.
As far as I heard Dogma had 1 mln sales just in Japan.
