All-New PlayStation Move Racing Wheel Video Tour

Posted by Rey Gutierrez // Senior Social Media Specialist -

Right before the launch of PlayStation Move, I sat down with Anton Mikhailov from SCEA’s Research and Development team to get an in-depth walkthrough of PlayStation Move. Anton and I are back at it again, and this time he’s here to give you a detailed preview of the latest PS Move peripheral: the PlayStation Move Racing Wheel. Paired with the precise tracking of PS Move, the Racing Wheel is a completely functional unit that offers second-to-none mechanics to control all aspects of your favorite racing games. From the motorcycle twist throttle to the folding grip design, Anton shows us how this new peripheral transforms your PS Move motion controller into the ultimate racing experience. (Playstation Move, PlayStation Move Racing Wheel, PS3)

That guy's a great salesman, but my moves don't work nearly as reliably as he made out they did so I'll pass.

Its a weird looking piece of hardware, but I suppose if you have the Move and want a wheel controller then this is not a bad option.

Car racing, bike racing and even flight games.... again its a weird controller but seems like the engineers put some thought into it.

Does not change Sony's modus operandi of core games but trying to open up their market wit items like this is not a bad idea. Just needs to be priced right, and at least marketed.

do people still actually use move?

the wand is bad enough, but adding that monstrosity of a wheel to it is just ridiculous!

I love how all these replies have nothing to do with responding to my comment.

Aww you all just wanted to be near to top ...how cute!

"will support upcoming racing games like LittleBigPlanet Karting, in addition to PS3 racing favorites like Gran Turismo 5, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Burnout Paradise, MotorStorm Apocalypse, and more."

The transforming nature of the controller is pretty cool

Agreed. I wasn't totally sold on this until he started talking roll/pitch/yaw. This works on Flight sims too? SOLD!

I know it's a far cry from a Flight stick, but it's also a far cry from acceptable flight stick price structure too.

I wish it had all the buttons and sticks as the DS3. Maybe would be actually able to fly a Jet in BF3 with this lol

@black911
it ALREADY supports GT5

GT5 supported the MOVE since day 1. This is just an attachment add on to the MOVE. And being that is only a physical attachment to a peripheral that already supports GT5, it's already compatible.

it's so cool how this and the sharpshooter aren't just pieces of plastic that you put your remote in to feel cool, like they add alot, like the direction rumble and motorcycle handles and stuff, it's all really cool and more then i expected

The move is a Pos? I wonder what you guys call good motion controlls lol I could have swore Killzone, Socom and the gladiator game amongst others work really great with moveeeeeeee
SaffronCurse  +   658d ago
It might suffer from the sales departent, but it works extremely well.

Honestly, I wouldn't get this
For a wheel, I already have logitech's wheel for my GT5 needs. But then again, I guess this IS useful for those racing games that may not be wheel compatible yet probably are MOVE compatible.

But then again, I can't call this a bad thing or not since I myself have never used it. I've used the MOVE for SOCOM, Killzone, and No more Heroes Paradise and it worked out great. So if it has the precision in racing that the mentioned 3 have in their genres, then it's worth it.
