i told people not to get too excited about the Vita sales last week. it'll be fine in the long run but some people were reacting as if it was the coming of Christ. this is not a good sign though. I love my Vita and know it will sell like every other PS branded console, but the real judge of a trend isn't the spike, but the new average it settles to afterwards... and I'm afraid this still remains simply a spike.
Like I said though, this isn't disastrous or reason to call out the 'doomed' articles, it's just a lesson in reasonable expectations and a warning to stop hyperventilating over the least piece of good news. great times ahead for the Vita, without a doubt, but patience will ease your fevered fanboyism
Well, it may not be putting up number like last week, but if it stays right behind the PS3 like it is now, that's still almost... what? Twice as good as it was doing before?
we could see better numbers from Europe and America simply because when last weeks numbers where released, Gravity Rush had only been out for two days, but regardless of that, I very much doubt that the Vita will be right behind the PS3 this week. I'm just a realist. At some point the Vita will spike and then return to a better average but not just yet.
edit: or are you speaking entirely of the Japanese numbers? I consider that approach pointless to be honest. The only worthwhile numbers are the world-wide sales (from a support perspective anyway and that's what I'm interested in)
It is kinda bat shit insane that the 360 is doing battle with the PS2 in Japan. I mean dang. If you choose a PS3 over a 360 or vice versa, thats your choice. One must offer something that appeals to you more. However who the hell wouldn't at least shoot for a 360 over a 10 year old console? If Japan is still cranking out badass PS2 games that are more appealing than 360 titles, I need to pack my bags and move!
