ME3 is my current GotY. I'm not a fan of the ending(s) even with the DLC, but the game itself was still great. Given that there are only a few more releases this year that I believe can challenge it, ME3 will probably end up being my GotY, though AC3 and PS All Stars (if it releases this year) can potentially change that.
Journey is no doubt a great game... but saying its the best game of this generation is a bit much considering there are hundreds/thousands of other games out there...
That's not being dramatic. You take things too personal/seriously. Metacritic seems to agree with him as well. It is one of the highest rated most highly acclaimed games this gen on a PS system:
I think the author should have explained why he thought those games were the best, instead of simply making references to other reviewers opinions about the games.
specially since some of those games recieved mediocre scores.

also, I would include Dragon Dogma in the list. This game has been terribly underrated IMHO
I really cannot agree with XIII-2 being there. It is a good game and I am enjoying it, but it feels lacking in quite a few areas. Also, the story is GARBAGE. The time traveling concept got old quick and it made me lose all interest in the world, which is damn shame because the world of XIII was actually a bit interesting.
Only it does make a decent RPG. It's not standout, true, and may not live up to this illustrious image people have built up for the FF franchise(I can at least think of four or five games in other franchises that are as good or better than anything in FF, but that's neither here nor there). But it's still a solid game.
Doesn't mean I think it should have made this list of "Best Of" games, especially when Tales of Graces f is absent.
Where the heck is Gravity Rush? I mean the game is simply amazing and fun. It has a high score on Metacritic too 84/100 simply one of the Best Games this Year. I'm quite sure it will be a contender for GOTY in Handheld section
SFxT does not deserve to be on this list. In fact, I fully expected it to be on the "Worst of 2012" list. There were so many problems on launch that continue today I can't begin to list them all. The netcode is terrible, they lied on release about local co-op teams for the XBOX 360 folks (even left it in the instruction manual), and the gem system selection method is far to long. Hopefully EVO has a solution, nobody wants to sit through character selections, gem selections, and button checks before every single match.
I know. Rpgs are precious to me and this one had many great ideas and gaming memes that allowed it b refreshing. It very sad. This and dragons dogma have been wonderful.
I play to many games....i can honestyl say ive played them all, well except the fighting ones not my genere. My personal favorites this year are Kingdom of Amaluer, Binary Domain, & Witcher 2 (yes it was for the 360 this year)
I got The Darnkess II for really cheap and it was surprisingly fun and empowering, so much so that I played it over back to back - best purchase in a while.
final fantasy should never be there, ghost recon should be there, dragons dogma, lollipop chainsaw, vitua fighter 5, fez, magic the gathering 2013 should be on the list

My only complaint would be the massive borders. But then again it really is no different to here so maybe it's a monitor/resolution thing.
