3DS is still having beast numbers. I am ready for the 3DS XL... The portable market is thriving. Numbers will continue to grow from here on out...
and once Capcom see the sales numbers for something like PSO2 (considering they are decent), how long will it be before the Vita gets its very own Monster Hunter?!
More perverts on ps3 then xbox with lolipop chainsaw? Lol s/ but medicore game.
Well they do say the PS3 appeals more to the adult gamer.
See all the Vita needs to be successful is to have the games not a desperate price cut. A price cut would be nice but not entirely necessary.
Looking forward to getting a Vita and I'm glad to see strong sales, especially for the handhelds.
Proving a lot of presumptuous "journalists" wrong as usual.
Although these numbers might not be precise, There's a chance that the handheld market may be stronger than ever.
How desperate are you?
Common Sense would dictate that games are what drives the platform, yes a price cut would be good but then sony loses out on some needed profits.
Whats that thing cost? 600 minimum?
Stop with the price cut. The Vita is 250.
Thats a bargain.
@ATi_Elite: I'm snapping my fingers, you can wake up now
The PS3 should pass the 360 sometime in 2013!
Overall 360 owners buy more games which makes Publishers happy!!
Sheesh...sony fanboys
"900,000 million"
uh what?
March was the end of SONY'S fiscal year, NOT MS's. Therefore, the March report measured only Sony's fiscal year performance because MS's fiscal year doesn't end until June. I don't blame you for falling for Sony's tricks, though, because the company you support was desperate to report ANYTHING positive after losing 2011 by 800,000 despite having a $50 price cut.
Because both companies use different fiscal years, the only true measuring stick is CALENDAR years - you know, the timeframe that the other 99.9% of the world's population uses.
360 reached 50 million first. It's NOT MS's fault that Sony was late to the race. Yet, you want to change the rules to reward the racer who shows up late, while penalizing the first starter who did absolutely nothing wrong.
Let's say Tom Brady plays 16 games, and throws 32 touchdown passes for an average of two per game. Now, quarterback #2, who missed the first month of the season due to a contract holdout, plays 12 games and throws 30 TD's for a 2.5 per game average. Who wins the TD title? Do we penalize Brady because he started on time and reward QB #2 for his late start, but higher average? Do we say "Well, QB #2 threw more TD's in the time they were head to head" and disregard an entire month of Brady's stats? Of course not - that would be ridiculous. Yet, by your reasoning, QB #2 would win.
Yeah, that is pretty hard to understand.
You could argue that it's not fair to Sony that they have to sell more in less time to "win". However, when you sit on the sidelines for a year, while your competition has the guts to be the first out of the gate, you should have to work harder to win. Sony has never launched first in any of it's generations - console or handheld. There's something to be said for that.
Look at it this way. Let's say I produce a console and sell 100 of them. 50 are defective. So, those 50 people send their console back, and I send then a replacement. My sales are still 100. Even though my failure rate is 50%, it DOES NOT change the number of sales, just like RROD doesn't change the 360's sales.
kidding aside, I also contributed to an xbox sale but having to replace it/have it fixed 1nce a year convinced me to go back to sony.
p.s
got my unit back then replaced though i sold it... that was after i kid and ask the 1800myxbox employeefor xbox's failurerate... i was surprised w/ his response but he tol me that all his fello gamers there has a ps3.
And who honestly wants to play core games on an iPhone 4 with a ridiculously small screen, terrible controls and weak hardware (at the moment).?
Death to smartphone gaming long live the Vita and 3DS.
EDIT:
Its great to see Vita sales pick up and i am pretty sure that Little Big Planet, Assassins Creed, Soul Sacrifice and Call of Duty will help sell even more Vitas and Sony Smash Brothers and Sly 4 as long as they are good. My only wish is that the Vita does well enough to not warrant a price cut, that way those morons screaming for one will get severely owned.
PS-VITA and the XBOX 360 are very close , but dam the PS3 is unbeatable, Sony deserves a lot of credit for their software
if xbox was selling as well in sony,s homeland as sony does in microsoft one then your point would be valid.
And yes if ps3 came out a year before xbox i am pretty sure it would have been a different story.
My point is xbox only rules in north america.
Nuff said
damn MS even extended xbox's warranty to 3 years for those type of issues. Sadly friend of mine, who remains loyal w xbox had an issue w the the slims optical drive after 6 months... talk about quality...
P.S. I dont care bout fanboy wars go jump off a bridge and take your xbox with you ;-)
was horribly wrong. Gravity Rush system seller in Eu and NA
No surprise here at all. The better systems eventually sell. It takes the haters and the ignorant a while to see the devices and then realize that they're worth owning.
When you suck at advertising, it kind of has to be that way. The truth usually prevails.
