Bethesda Makes Obvious Mistake With Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC

Dawnguard, Bethesda's highly anticipated expansion pack for Skyrim has finally released. In it you must choose a side in the eternal war, vampires or humans? Well apparently you don't actually have to choose a side thanks to a possible oversight from Bethesda. Let's just say the Vampire Hunters are very understanding and tolerant people. (PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Xbox 360)

interesting im a werewolf i wonder if i can become a werewolf vampire hybrid
lashes2ashes  +   358d ago
They already said you have to pick one wolf or vampire.
gazgriff2k12  +   358d ago
im on ps3 and already a werewlof on my main save. so the question is will i be able to pick sides with the vampires and be a hybrid
ThanatosDMC  +   358d ago
The two diseases dont mix since you become immune to the other if you contract one of them.
da_2pacalypse  +   357d ago
They said that at one point you're given the option to switch from being a warewolf to a vampire. That is the only chance you have to switch. Otherwise, you're stuck with whatever you have.

Il never know. Because after downloading Dawnguard i discovered both of my saves had corrupted and id lost 500 hours of gameplay and i just cant be arsed to restart.
omi25p  +   357d ago
8 disagrees??? So i didnt lose 500 hours of gameplay. OOOooooook
xursz  +   357d ago
I feel your pain man. Don't worry about the disagrees because apparently they don't know what it's like to lose all those hours of playtime. The same happened to me with MGS Snake Eater back in the day and it was sooo painful to have to start all over. It's a heart wrenching feeling.

Whats wrong with being a vampire who hunts other vampires?
ThanatosDMC  +   358d ago
Well, my character hunted everyone and anything that moved. Except for those characters who cant die.

We all had a pop at them too :D I tried blasting a ocuple of invincibles off high ledges :D
ThanatosDMC  +   357d ago
The worst immortals in the game were those snotty little kids. Heck, if you tried stealing from houses past midnight some of them dont ever sleep. Those kids find you even with high sneak.

The only mistake I'd say is the one they announced back before the game was released: "Xbox 1-month timed exclusive"
Us PC gamers and PS3 are pretty pissed.

I'm pretty used to waiting when it comes to Skyrim.
dubt72  +   358d ago
In solidarity with other gamers, I will wait one hour, have some pizza and watch some TV, before I go and enjoy my already downloaded Dawnguard. You're welcome.

D3 until then!

It benefits us in some ways. I get to see the reviews for the DLC and know whether or not i should buy or how high my expectations should be.

Although it kinda takes away some of the hype for it :(

Meh. One month is no big deal.
MysticStrummer  +   357d ago
Timed exclusives are one level of stupid, timed exclusive DLC takes it up (or down) a notch on the stupid scale, and content that's exclusive for one month is just laughable. When I heard this DLC was a timed exclusive for 360 I assumed it would be much longer than a month before PC and PS3 got it. I wonder how much MS paid for this. lol
SP3333D-O  +   358d ago
nvidia should start cutting these deals for timed PC exclusives! That way way it would come out on the best platform first. :D
DJSlapaho  +   358d ago
Meh the community mods makes up for the wait. We will get it in a month. The same cant be said for them about the mods.

It's funny PC and PS3 gamers have to wait a month, all we'll hear is how they'll get the better versions.. blah blah Shut it! :)

to that end!

It's funny that you think one month exclusive DLC is a big deal. xD
mynameisEvil  +   357d ago
Agreed. I've noticed something, actually. Back in '09 when the 360 actually had a larger number of games coming out, the fanboys weren't going, "HAHA PS3 fags, you have to wait 6+ months to get the F3 DLC!!", at least not from what I remember.

I'm assuming more kids have popped onto this site by this point, not realizing that "fanboyism" is still a fantastically stupid thing to do... or the people who've been on here have just gotten angrier. Maybe a mix.

The point is, bragging over a timed exclusive is so friggin' dumb that it doesn't make your console seem better in any way, only worse due to whoever's bragging about this showing their console's community off in a bad light. *sigh* It'd be nice if one day we could all scrap the "ooh, your console sucks" vs. "no, YOUR console sucks" attitude, but I know that will unfortunately never happen.

Twenty bucks is just a bit too much for this. Not to mention, I played the game for like 150 hours last Winter. I'm not sure what is basically a faction questline from both sides is nearing an expansion.

Will buy at about half that price.
DasTier  +   357d ago
Yeah twenty bucks is too much to pay for an expansion with likely more lasting appeal than many £40 games... Good one

isnt that what Blade was about

No. Blade was about an orphan who fights crime in a bat suit.

umm.... kinda yes kinda no. vampires could stalk each other at best in the film since the film has you believe vampires can't harm one-another.

I will just wait until the game of the year edition comes out....that way I get all the dlc in one package
jamesensor  +   357d ago
Does this dlc finally let you feed to death someone? I mean physically, not with a spell at distance.

Mistake? Maybe they just thought it would be cool to let you hunt vampires as a vampire yourself?
Seems more like a cool thing to be able to do than an "Obvious mistake".
soundslike  +   357d ago
...and if you couldn't do it, then it'd be a "glitch" and you'd whine about that instead.
