Mass Effect 3's Extended Cut - Too Little, Far Too Late

"It’s better, but ultimately it’s very obvious that it should have been included in the game in the first place. Having to release something like this to go back and “fix” bad storytelling is sloppy and strange.

"Even if these expanded endings were brilliant in every way (they’re not), it would be hard to get back into the plot after having it on the shelf for months. Replaying through the last hour again (the hardest part of the game mind you) for five minutes of new cutscenes is rather annoying, and I’m not sure if I was supposed to go back and play even more old content." (BioWare, Culture, Mass Effect 3, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

The so called extended parts felt cheap and rushed for the sake of trying to save Bioware image...I'm not gonna go into detail since don't wanna spoil anything for other gamers...Its 100% confirmed that the Mass Effect universe isn't finished though..

So many plot holes in this series now. I like how Garrus died in my game yet there he is holding name plate on the ship. Yea seems legit...

Second of all, how did the fleet escape the blast yet the fastest ship (Normandy) in the fleet got hit and crash landed!? So terrible it's not even funny. I could write a better ending in the 30 minutes it takes me to take a dump in the morning!

It takes you thirty minutes to take a dump? :|

well, if he's a gamer, and his diet (probably) consists of doritos/coca cola, it stands to reason that it'd take him 30 minutes to take a dump in the morning.

but i guess if i'm going to be on topic - there's no way, oneaboveall, that you'd be able to write a better ending despite what your whiny, entitled mind might think.

Those new Nacho Burritos at Taco bell with do that to a man! And i have to read game informer and other game magazines which takes time! lol

@Ziggurcat I bet I could. How hard would it have been to just have it so that Shepard and Anderson killed Elusive man and typed in a firing code to fire the Crusible thus killing all Reapers and everyone is saved? That makes a lot more sense than tossing in the stupid Star Child.

That bastard alone ruined the whole ending. Whether you think i'm whiny is your own opinion but thousands of other people agree that the ending flat out sucks. That's a fact because if it didn't we wouldn't have been graced with this equally crappy DLC to give closure.

Remember that gamers will b playing this in the future too. Many will go back and replay all 3 or play all of them for the first time. It's good that these people experience the best ending offered.

It's true that it wasn't the best ending. It hasn't ruined mass effect though. All my memories come from the journey and even a tidy ending like lord of the rings would have been forgotten. It's the adventure and choices and moments and characters that will live on and b remembered for a long time to come.

The EC did not fix the major problem with ME3 ending, Casper and his goddamn rainbow.

Along with the 4 choice being a giant one finger salute to those who didn't understand biowares "artistic masterpiece"

And now it has me asking more questions.

Well lets lave BW asking questions like "where did our fanbase/customers go?" after all of this, what a abortion!

I had no issues with them and thought they added to theendings quite well.

Kudos Bioware. The rest of you whiny B's need to step back breathe and stop your crying!

I'll be honest I started tearing up when Liara placed Shepards plaque on the list of the fallen.

I think they took care of the important bits. Overall I'm much more content with the ending. It has a sense of resolution whereas the old one basically screwed everyone in the game over.
