"Releasing on September 14th of this year is the 5th installment of Paul W. S. Anderson’s Resident Evil film series. While received by mixed critical reviews and a mixed audience, the series has pulled in enough of a fan base to earn the latest entry in the saga $26.6 million on its opening weekend. Though I don’t find myself particularly intrigued by the Resident Evil film series, I can understand why it’s been able to pull in a crowd as well as it does. Rather than simply transferring the game script into film, the movies adapt their own story and characters to a mythos that already exists, allowing for some creative liberties that tweak things about the game that would not translate well onto the big screen."
If this guy is not pleased with the first mortal kombat film, then what on earth can he ask for? The actors looked like the characters, the characters had their personalities.. it tried to take itself seriously.
The second film was garbage money grab that sucked ass, but still... were talkn about the first one which was an all around entertaining film.
Cause the game has an "ok" story" And it was faithful to it. It was also stylized and felt serious...(the first one)
So in the regard to game to film it was incredable. Not oscar winning, but good acting all around.
Also MK one was good. MK:A and the TV show were an abomination though.
It only lacks the Gore, but everything else was perfect
I mean even though the fatalities were extravagant gore, it got the point across.. people were dieing horrendously.
This is a great article by the first guys who tried to write Alone In The Dark for him:
