In this guide, we go over how to download any item to your PS3 from any location, just in case you're not around your ps3 when you need to be! (PC, PS Vita, PS3, PSN)

'NOTE: If using a Vita, make sure that you don’t switch out of Remote Play or the session will be terminated. This means that you can’t switch to another application or even lock the device.'

WRONG! I have completely shut down the remote play app, gamed a bit then re-started it to see how my downloads were doing, after selecting join on private network or over internet, you will re-connected to the PS3.

What bugs me about it is during remote play, you have no access to your account settings so can't download to the PS3 from your download list.

Also with my PSP I could stream video from my NAS to the PSP in remote play, so I had my movies/tv shows handy wherever I had an internet connection. But the vita doesn't show up seeing the server. Has anyone else found a solution to this?

No you don't really need to change any settings after remote play has been activated. It wouldn't matter if either the PS3 or the Vita went to sleep.

It would have been useful when I last moved house as BT wouldn't connect our internet for two months. So I had to put my account on a friends PS3 and start downloads there to make sure I didn't lose out on two months of PS+ titles.

It makes no difference if the PS3 turns off, you will continue to download the next time it turns on.
It makes no difference if the Vita sleeps or not because contrary to what the article states, you can very simply re-connect to the PS3.
