What can Namco do with Super Smash Bros.?

GameZone writes, "With Sakurai at the helm, we have full confidence that Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U and 3DS will live up to previous chapters of the series, as he’s obviously guiding his team at Namco Bandai down the right path. But let’s hope that cross-play and some fresh ideas are taken into consideration to make this the best entry in the series to date. The fans certainly deserve it, especially seeing how Brawl turned out to be so awesome. Step up and knock it out of the park, guys." (3DS, Wii U)

Nice read.

Namco could bring a lot to the Smash Bros' table. Hopefully they will start with improving online multiplayer.

put goku in it?

Online is a major thing that namco can bring. namco is always hailed for superb online. so i expect the online to be fantastic.

They can only do two things.
-Screw it up
or
-Make it a success like the previous SSB titles.

add a little more depth to the core combat mechanics and i'd be pretty happy. the game is fun yes, but doesnt have too much of a move list and there are alot of characters that feel similar. I understand its supposed to be simple but i still want some depth in there.

that and well Kos-mos being in the game would make it an insta buy for me

Smash 64 and Melee have depth. Regardless of the simplicity.

Learn to play? lawl.
StarFox  +   1163d ago
brawl didn't thats probabl what she is referring to. brawl was simplified for noobs unlike SSB & SSBM

You didnt play it enough, then...
omarzy  +   1163d ago
not enough of a move list? you do know that by only using the A button and the analog stick, you have 12 moves, then some more depending on your position in the air, that is only the A button. as for core mehanics, you probbaly just did not play correctly unless you not consider wave dashing, L cancelling, short hopping, fast falling, edge hogging, chain grabs, shield reflecting, and DI, and air dodging core mechanics? you have to know how to use your character correctly. people who are really good can play as metaknight, and only touch the ground for 20 seconds of the game. Each character has a special set of moves that are used at the best times in the best situations. It is far, far from a simple game if you can actually play the intended way. just look up a guy on youtube called aizea( i forget how to spell it) he beat 3 level 9 with full handicap(team match so it was him vs all of them) and did not lose a single life, or get hit once. That is deep playing.

I've never heard of Kos-mos. I shall use the power of google to find out why I have never heard of Kos-mos.

Make everything, at least, how it used to be in Brawl and let us play online while playing two player mode on the couch as well.
PshycoNinja  +   1163d ago
There's already a game about to release that does that. It's called: PlayStation All-Stars
linkenski  +   1161d ago
I'm not into that. It's a ripoff and it doesn't have the same damage system :/

Sakurai raped Brawl to appeal to the noobs. Any real Melee smasher knows what I am talking about.

Lets See Namco give us back fast-falling, l-canceling, and kill the floaty dodging bullshit. I just hope Namco can return Smash to its FORMER TECHNICAL Melee/64 glory.
omarzy  +   1163d ago
Melee was for more competitive, but the advantage of having more skill in general was still in brawl. I guess you could make it competitive on your own, but not to the same level as melee. The one thing i like more in brawl than in melee was the characters moves, and how to master them. In melee, if you mastered one characters, then you pretty much mastered them all to a certain extent. In brawl, if you are good with some characters, you can be a complete noob with the others.

I just don't understand why Nintendo didn't do this

So far we've gotten one SSB game per console...how could they not be arsed to make the Wii U one. It's not that difficult. Yeah the guys in charge still of his franchise but it's also the team that also helps making the games appealing. With Tekken 6 being dissapointing I'm a little worried about this

I hope people don't just put on a fake smile and nod their head if the worse comes to it and it does look unappealing or not like past SBB games.

This is becoming annoying. I can't even check out the hot articles

Anyway, IDK, Namco has me worried. Their games have been skimpy on content. Although, from what I have heard, Namco is more or less programming it rather than actual input.
