Disney Interactive Continues To Push Pixar Collaboration With Brave: The Video Game

Disney•Pixar has another number one movie opening on its hands with the gorgeous computer-generated masterpiece, Brave. The film has a number of firsts, including the first female protagonist, the first real country backdrop of the Highlands of Scotland and the first time that Pixar has delved into the past.

The end result is a fresh take on fairy tales and a very modern princess tale that should appeal to kids and adults alike. The film also follows James Cameron’s Avatar in successfully utilizing stereo 3D to accentuate the storytelling experience and draw viewers deeper into the richly detailed Scottish mythology.

On the video game front, Disney Interactive and developer Behavior Interactive have worked with the talented crew at Pixar to further expand the 3D theatrical experience. The third person action adventure game for PC, Max, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 allows players to challenge destiny and change their fate, while playing as Merida who is voiced by the film’s actress, Kelly Macdonald (“Boardwalk Empire”).
