HP hedges bet on Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD

Previously only HD DVD backers, HP is now making a dual format PC:

Last week we covered the amazing value Medion MD 8828, with it's dual format LG drive. Now it turns out HP is also jumping on the dual format bandwagon with the Pavilion Elite PC m9190.

The new desktop will be first in Australia from HP with both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, and will go on sale at the end of January. Not only is it a first for HP, they've also beaten Dell, which told us they don't offer a PC that plays Blu-Ray and HD-DVD in Australia right now."

I guess Dell must be crying by the news that HD-DVD is regaining momentum then. Oh wait.

Dell, Mac and Sony won't offer HD-DVD players. This will only hike the price of HP computers, not worth it for the little or no extra value
