BF3 Dinosaurs vs. Black Ops 2 Zombies

Product-Reviews writes: Right now, there are multiple threads up on Battlelog with players begging DICE to make this a reality, but do we really want DICE to give in and essentially make a Battlefield version of COD Zombies? Dinosaurs in Battlefield has ‘big risk’ written all over it, but it all depends how DICE implements it to work with their current system – providing it happens of course. (Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Zombies had been about staying alive with your back against the wall when playing in a small team, so if they do the same with dinosaurs in BF3 then it could work.
DrRichtofen  +   335d ago
If Dice adds a survival dinosaur mode I will get BF3 right now
danswayuk  +   335d ago
I second that if the maps are big like the others within BF3, then this DLC would be day one for me.
DrRichtofen  +   335d ago
And with the inclusion of vehicles in it I'd say Treyarch are gonna have some competition.

haha awesome

Getting tired of zombies. Wouldn't mind some dinosaurs.
Hazmat13  +   335d ago
why not zombie dinosaurs!?!
Reverent  +   335d ago
Because normal dinosaurs are more than enough.

Nothing beats dinosaurs,except more dinosaurs.

What's the fun in shooting dinosaurs?, it will just be repetitive because you will just keep shooting on a very big target over and over until it goes down.
I don't think it's gonna happen as the animation required for the dinosaurs would require lots of work and the difficulty, they will have to simulate the dinosaur or use a BF fanboy to act like a dinosaur for a mocap.

While I agree that work would have to be put in for animations, I have one response for your argument about the fun in shooting dinosaurs.

If I was designing it, the bigger ones would be like "boss" dino's that you would need a team effort to take down. I wouldn't just keep tossing T-rex's at people.

I'd have a ton of little dino's that attack, this way they move faster and are harder to hit. Plus I would have things get "spooky" with long pauses of waiting in a forest for something to show up, and dino's running in the tree's around you.

Then a giant T-Rex will rampage out, flip over your vehicle if you are in one, and start destroying everyone. It'd be like a tank though. So randomly blowing ten clips into its leg won't do anything but flesh wounds. However if you shoot it in the eye, or shoot the environment, it would help. Plus I'd have Dino fights. So if you have two t-rex's coming at you, plan it out to where they meet and have em fight, but at the same time that doesn't always work lol You could also have the little ones attack the big dino, or have longnecks defend you.

AKA I wouldn't just do a simple dino horde rip off of COD Zombies with new avatars, it would be fleshed out.

You do realize that dinosaurs come in all sizes and shapes? They're not just t-rexes.
ramtah  +   335d ago
i havnt played bf3 for 6 month now if they do taht then i will play it again
Soldierone  +   335d ago
As long as its on official servers I'll play it too. I haven't been on since Jan....

Nothing like shooting dinosaurs, zombies are too mainstream.

Dino Crisis 2 has a lot of dinosaur shooting goodness, so Battlefield can pull it out too, besides imagine to face A T-Rex while dealing with Raptors? It would be awesome.
eliteslaya13  +   335d ago
Dinosaurs would actually make sense in BF3 if they make maps accommodated for a Dino mode(Jungle environments like BC2's Laguna Presa). Riding in a jeep with a T-Rex on you and your teammate's ass would be epic. But don't expect anything like this for a while. And to be honest, BO2's zombie mode sounds promising from what I've heard(Competitive Elements).

NO WE DONT WANT DINOSAURS!! leave that stupid, arcadey crap to that stupid, arcadey game CoD... that time and resources can be used for make more maps, guns and vehicles..
ExCest  +   335d ago
shut up.
Reverent  +   335d ago
ExCest, I second that.

venom, you say, "WE DONT WANT DINOSAURS"; yeah well you don't speak for the rest of us. You should have said, " I DONT WANT DINOSAURS".

Either way though, if they DID add dinosaurs, TOO BAD for you; I'm sure you'd totally be forced to buy it and play it. /s

If they add Dinosaurs, make it REALISTIC at least!
Hufandpuf  +   335d ago
Not to be a downer, but expect to pay $30 for this if it does come out. It would be a whole new game mechanic if put into BF3, and it's only reasonable to charge $20+ for an expansion that changes up game mechanics.

Wait a minute...wouldnt my brand spanking new BF3 Premium account get me that for free?!?! /s
Hufandpuf  +   334d ago
lol, no they didn't talk about Dino DLC included with premium because it wasn't even being made.

I get that your using sarcasm, but I'm pretty sure that the people that bought Premium would know that if DICE did make a DLC like this, it would cost money.
RaptorShinRyu  +   332d ago
This is fucking retarded. Obviously it won't be anything near to COD zombies. Dinosaurs would end up being a totally different experience. COD zombies is all about trying to stay alive in a closet sized map against slow moving targets. I'm sure a BF3 dinosaur mode would include large maps with different dinosaurs posing completely different threats. It would only be a "big risk" to DICE if they tried to make their own dumbass zombie survival mode. If DICE stuck to their development philosophy, a dinosaur mode would be something completely new, there's no way it could "fail". At the least, it would be seen as a cooperative add-on.
