Dark Souls discounted to under $30 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360
An online retailer has discounted the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the multiplatform action role-playing game, Dark Souls, to under $30.00.
(Dark Souls, PS3, Xbox 360)
I just bought this yesterday for $5 at a local pawnshop. I was driving around, saw a written sign saying game sale, went in, saw DarkSouls for $5, bought it. The only better deal I've ever gotten was $3 for Beyond Good and Evil for PS2 at a music store a few months after it came out. You gotta love days like that.
My favorite types of games action role playing. This and Demon Souls is so solid, so engulfing that ive replayed both of them three times each and i never get tired lol. I would never sell these games ever!!!!
Dark Souls and Demon's Souls are both pretty awesome games. They were both worth full price.
Have you tried playing either of them? There really isn't anything "MEH" about the games. They're fun (though frustrating as hell at times, ha), and they offer an experience that's mostly non-existent today. Maybe you're just not into challenging games, I guess.
Well, that may be partially true, but only because 90% of people playing games are casuals, which most of them only enjoy games that are simple and give them everything for doing nothing, as well as guide them along everywhere.
Tough games are pretty rare these days because they aren't what the masses want.
The fact that Skyrim got so much more attention and awards than Dark Souls says a lot about the current state of gaming. Having played all the Elder Scrolls games, I'm always surprised by how little they've changed over the years. Dark Souls and Demon's Souls are my first and second favorite games this generation, I'm just not sure which is first and which is second. Jose and Mike are certainly welcome to their opinion, but their comments make me smh. $30 for Dark Souls is an absolute steal.
Just noticed I lost another bubble. I guess it makes people feel better about their opinion if they deny someone else's ability to express a different one.
Skyrim actually has a real story. That's one reason why it gets more attention and awards than Dark Souls.
Another reason, I'm willing to admit, is that it looks just too frustrating to play. But that's not why I've dismissed the game, I've avoided buying it, because even if I were willing to die over and over and over and over again just to get better at the game and eventually master it, it's still not worth the frustration or time.
I've seen my friend play the majority of this game, he loves it, but it just doesn't look like something I would want to play. Plus, I don't really like the whole swords/magic/medieval type gameplay in third person. I like it in first person because it feels immersive and fun.
I'm sure the game is worth 30 bucks, but it's not worth it to ME. Maybe when this game drops down to 15 bucks I'll try it out, but until then, there are plenty of games left for me to play that I will enjoy a lot that WONT frustrate me.
My favorite game of all time, along side with Demon's Souls! I've been playing since Atari, Turbo-Grafix 16, NES, etc..., and I promise that this game has left me awestruck more than any other game in that genre has ever done. I love it so much that I even bought both the PS3 version and the 360 version and beat it twice on PS3 and am at the last boss on the 360 version. Can't wait for the the DLC.
According to the producer, "Artorias Of The Abyss, the first downloadable content for Dark Souls, is going to add a significant amount of gameplay to the action RPG. Producer Daisuke Uchiyama estimates that it's 10-15 hours long.

You can pick up Red Dead Redemption for the xbox for $20 on amazon now. It doesn't mean no one wants it.
