Watched this last night, really good. Everybody needs to watch it. Makes you appreciate the people who put all this time and effort into games a little more.
I watched it and enjoyed it a lot, but it did't really make me appreciate the people behind the game.
I mean, the skinny guy from team meat is just weird lol. And phil fish even though he is quite funny, does he realize he said "f*** you" to his fans in the movie? that guy needs a PR manager lol
Phil Fish actually says f*** you to the trolls who pester him on the internet about Fez's release schedule. I wouldn't necessarily say he's insulting his "fans".
I would just imagine that people who are awaiting the game actually want to see the game be released. As the developper I woudn't say "fuck you" to them.
Well, to be fair, I do believe he was responding specifically to the trolls, not just the people awaiting his game. If I remember, he read off a list of hyperbolic comments insulting him, and then said f*** you.
And you also have to remember, its just one guy doing everything. Its not like half life 3 you go to Valves offices and see Gabe hard at work coding/designing and people pestering him to hurry up. No hardly any of these guys even know how to make games (jaffe, cliffy b etc) they have big teams do the work for them. So they deserve and can handle being pestered.
But having one guy do everything, from being the front man, designer, coder, sound etc etc then pestering him to be quicker is just quite insane. And thats what i meant about appreciating the few people who are a one man band more.
You also have to realise people who are creative are usually a little messed up socially. It comes with the territory, so you shouldnt hold how weird they are against them :)
