Ubisoftcore, more like: Ubisoft need to get their act together in regards to women

Ubisoft might be one of the biggest developers in the world, but when it comes to the ladyfolk, they've got a few things to learn - if their E3 showing is anything to go by. (Dev, E3, Far Cry 3, Industry, Just Dance 4, PC, PS3, ShootMania Storm, Wii U, Xbox 360)

I guess when you put it that way they did degrade women. I am actually looking forward to far cry 3 though despite that strange 30 seconds at the begining of the demo the rest of the game looks exciting enough. As for the boy vs Girl part of the press breifing i thought it was sexest and annoying but oh well all they want is more attention right? x)

Better create some games where women fondle the crap outta men to make it even.

But seriously I'm indifferent to the situation. They're just games, and believe me, I don't see many nerds going around sexually stereotyping women, if anything they're the most kind hearted romancers in the world.

But if anyones been following meme trends women are supposed to absolutely LOVE the douchebags who treat them wrong, but theres nothing wrong with pointing out that flaw in todays online extravaganza of derp.

Also what's up with videogames stupidly masculine portrayal of men? 30" biceps, bloody 8 pack, stupid good looks, absolutely flawless with the ladies? What the **** is with that.

Do we just ignore things like this? Or do we simply use our bored minds and hands to tackle anything even remotely 3rd rail. And do we attack the entire company blindly? Did they not also release info on AC liberation with a female protagonist who happens to be black in the south during the revolutionary war.

I don't have an issue with ubisofts marketing campaign or game design. They seem to be doing well.

lol and there we go again, trying to find something offensive and sexist in something that doesn't have either of those two.

Showing tits in a game is _not_ sexist. A random woman being raped? So it's okay if Hollywood does it but not games? And a Poledancer? Wow, all these things are so far fetched that they can't be in media?

And honestly, I didn't notice a difference in the clothes worn by the girls on stage vs. the clothes worn by the girls who pass me by on the street on my way to work every day.

I also doubt that Ubisoft told these esport girls what they should wear

Everyone needs to stop being such a little bitch, always complaining about nothing.

I am no proponent of censorship, but this is a fair point to make. Sex sells, and an attractive female protagonist can generate a lot of money for these companies. Imo if you are offended then you should call them out, either by not buying their products or by starting conversations like these.

That being said, Ubisoft shouldn't be singled out on this issue. Imo there are other companies that much more insensitive.
