Resident Evil 6 is more than twice the length of its not-exactly-brief predecessor, judging by comments from producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.
I love it Once again R.I.P Short Campaigns
I really hope the days of shelling out 60 bucks for a 3 to 5 hour campaign are over... but for some reason I doubt it. But I'm good with RE 6 being longer, it was like 3 hours or less, so let's hope for 10 to 12 but really probably more like 8 hrs. I hope you are right, I really do.
I'd put up with a small campaign if I am to get a PROPER Resident Evil game instead of a COD/Black hawk Down wannabe bull**** effort that was RE5.
which is "...when you get all the DLCs that will be available starting from day 1" there...FIXED!
That's great and all, but I kinda wish... You know, that it'd be a survival horror game...
i was on the top 200 leaderboard when res 5 came out for beating it in about 1 hour 30 mins or something like that. so this better be at least 3 times longer
i placed 1st in one of the areas but i lost to some japanese gamer
Scuba Steve, Damn You!
I hope you aren't claiming this as your first playthrough playing it normally. Speed runs don't count when summing up the length of a game.
Can't trust devs on game length claims. I've never seen an accurate one to date. I remember Rockstar said GTAIV was 100 hours long. I 100%'d it in half that.
I'd rather a game be 50 hours long with compelling content than 100 hours long with repetitive side missions. After I finsihed the main story line for GTA4, I was pretty much done with the game. Shooting virtual pigeons for a virtual trophy isn't what I would call "fun". The dates in the game were pretty good though. I was suprised at how many lines of dialouge each date had. Everytime I'd hear something new.
What was the point of your comment? All he said is Rockstar exaggerated the length of their game, like most companies. Then you go off on some rant that has nothing to do with anything. On topic: I'm guessing each of the 3 campaigns will be about 4 hours or less.
jared what was your point in addressing his point lol. To me anything over 20 hours is the start of BS game design. There isnt enough stuff to do in gaming to make a full 20 hour game. RE games of old all could be beaten in under 3 hours. Young gamers today annoy me with this 6 hours oh noooooooo!! Go play 90 percent of 8-16 bit era games most were under an hour and cost 50 bucks
I remember DICE saying bc2 would be 10 hours long.. Lol but I really hope this is true for re6!
I'm not really looking for a long game. I'd rather have six hours of solid AAA gameplay than ten hours of average dragging my feet through the mud gameplay.
Six hours just isn't enough regardless of how good it is.
Some of the older games could be completed in 3, and they're considered masterpieces.
if you think back about it, 6 hours of a really good solid AAA game will disappoint much more! it's a good game, shouldn't you be expecting more?
Longer than RE5, with dlc :P
Also look's like twice more action too but not hating.
But not liking either.
RE5 was my first Resident Evil so not knowing what I missed out on, I found it a decent game to play. I especially liked that I could play it with my girlfriend, the spooks led to alot of jumping into my arms hehehe. I don't look to RE for my survival horror fix because it never was that for me.
Hopefully that means RE6 is between 14-21hrs or more cause I completed RE5 in 7hrs which is 2 short IMO.
Are each campaigns longer than RE5 or are they adding up all the total hours from the separate campaigns
thats cool, but will the campaign have more action than horror or more horror than action?
RE5 was decently long so hearing this is overwhelmingly fantastic!
Look at Zombi U and learn something from it CRaPCom.. I do not want an ACTION Game.. And I do not care how long it is because it s just an Action Game and no Survival Horror anymore..
Had no problem with RE5's length. I'm more concerned with the AI partner. If RE6 is gonna have one. I sure hope it's not as stupid as RE5's.
And, if it's like RE5, it'll still be a shit game.
