Blizzard Faces Legal Indictments From France, Germany Over Diablo 3

"While poor gamers in the US of A have been left to the wolves regarding the pervasive always-on DRM in Diablo III, other consumers around the world are getting help from consumer advocacy groups including some extremely stiff stipulations being placed on Blizzard from both Germany and France." (Activision Blizzard Inc., Blizzard, Diablo III, PC)

Blizzard...you brought France and Germany together to combat you? That's like bringing Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir together to fight Dixie Carter.

This sort of thing should be happening more often so as to reduce the sales of unfinished games.

i.e. Battlefield 3 on PS3 - over 3 months to get working comms for a game that is designed around squads.

A Further 3+ months to fix input lag - trying to play an fps game when you can get delays up to a quarter controller turn when aiming was a joke.

And what did those pre-order purchasers get? was it an apology or some extra bonus??? No they got stiffed from paying top prices and further by having to pay for the Karkand map expansion twice if they want the premium upgrade.

I agree instead of fighting over some damn system we should be fighting these game comapnies who give us broken game's and sh*t i pay money to get something that should be working right out of the box.If this could happen gaming would be much better IMO.

Well said. Bubbles.

I really wish gaming websites weren't always praising Diablo 3 and were instead coming down on Blizzard for taking away consumer rights. So much fail.

Sadly in this day and age, most of the console gamers are sheep and dont think before purchasing a product.

They dont recognize shady business at all, or they dont care and continue to encourage it.

Money talks.

Now if they could only fix the sound cutting out, 8 months after the game release date I'd be happy.
Playing a FPS without sound is not acceptable.

they should not be allowed do anything to blizzard, they new before buying it the game would be always on DRM, and should have know that when the game had issues, it would be unplayable

and before anyone starts i boycotted this game because of the always online DRM, so should have others, it is blizzards game if they want it ONLINE all the time that's up to them not retarded gamers that think blizzard owe them something

If they want bitch about something, there is plenty

Server Lag
Hacking of accounts and the NEED to purchase dam authenticator
a pay to win Auction house in which blizzard control the Loot drops
Error codes galore

I do find it interesting that no one is talking about Blizzard controlling loot drops to moderate high-end cash-outs of the RMAH.

They can basically dictate how many items are worth selling for $250, which means they'll always be taking 15% cuts from specific item drops. It's kind of like someone taking control of Wall St. and fixing stock volumes to alter the pricing.

I can't believe there isn't any sort of outside regulation on that. Blizzard is making money with real-world trading by tertiary price fixing.
kostchtchie_  +   341d ago
exactly mate, it is like printing your own cash, NO company should be allowed to do this RMAH especially when they control the drop rate %

The question is, who is stupid enough to pay $250 for a few lines of code? And yes, I know there are games that people sell items, business, etc for thousands, tens of thousands of dollars (Eve Online for example), but why for a randomly generated item in D3?

Blizzard deserve to be hanged from the balls.
